Elf Treats

I saw these cute elf treats done by Stampin' Up! demonstrator Yvonne Pree and knew I wanted to try to make some for stocking stuffers.  I think my grandchildren will like them, and they were also a hit at a craft fair I was at last week.  I sold out of all of them so got busy making more.

They were easy to make using 1" x 8" cellophane bags for the candy, and I find that M & M's fit nicely.  For the pants I cut Old Olive Card Stock with my Top Note Bigz Die, and used my 1" Square Punch to cut my angle.  What is really nice about the Top Note Die is that you already have an edge that looks like stitching, so to accent that I took my White Stampin' Chalk Marker and went around the design.  I added some retired buttons, and used Linen thread for my handle.  I stapled the thread to my top and used Sticky Strip on the back of my buttons so they would hold nicely on top of my staples.  I also used Sticky Strip to keep my bags in place.

For the elf shoes I punched Real Red Card Stock with my Sweetheart Punch, folded it in half and then trimmed it to make it look like shoes.  I also used a small piece of Sticky Strip on the front and back of each shoe to give it a good hold.  The "I Love Santa" sentiment is from a retired stamp set, but it was punched out with the Petite Curly Label Punch and placed on with Dimensionals.
