Candy Cane Christmas

For today's card I used some Candy Cane Lane and Presents & Pinecones Washi Tape.  I thought they both made a fun background for my "Candy Cane" card.  The Washi Tape goes on easily and for the larger pieces I wrap the ends around my layer for extra hold.  This is a quick card to make, and since I have new stampers at my classes I try to incorporate some easier cards that showcase different products but are not too overwhelming to make.

I used ink and paper that matches with the colors in the Washi Tape, and since the colors are listed under the products in the catalog you know what will coordinate and make your project look great.  Another hint for new stampers and another reason why I love Stampin' Up! products.

Everyday Chic Washi Tape

I made another card with retiring Washi Tape and this one could be used for many occasions.  I just layered some of the tape at random lengths, added my oval framelits and stamped images and have a card that I can pull out if I need a sympathy, get well, or thinking of you card.

Washi Tape is so easy to use, and while the tape in the Annual Catalog is all retiring, there is some great new tape coming up in the new catalog in June.

Washi Tape birthday

For this month's stamp class I am using a lot of products that will be retiring.  So, for my card today I used random pieces of Washi Tape to create my background.  I love how easy Washi Tape is to use.  You can create so many different patterns and designs, and mixing up your Washi Tape to create a different color palette is a lot of fun.

My card base is Basic Black Card Stock layered with a piece of Basic Gray.  To my Whisper White layer I added Washi Tape from the Sweet Sadie, Epic Day and Retro Fresh packs (along with one piece of black from a retired pack).  I punched some stars using scraps of Back to Black Designer Series Paper and stamped my birthday using Black Memento Ink.  This was punched using the retiring Artisan Label punch and placed onto my card with Dimensionals.  The Label Love Stamp Set and Artisan Label Punch can still be purchased as a bundle to save you 15% before they retire.

Washi Sheet Flowers

So sorry my picture is much darker than I would like, but I still hope you can see how pretty my Washi Sheet punched flowers are.  The Birthday Bash Designer Washi Sheets come 8 sheets, 2 each of 4 designs and measure 6" x 12".  You can use them with your punches or your Big Shot to create all kinds of looks.

To my card base of Whisper White Card Stock I added 3 Blossom Punch flowers with three different Washi Sheets.  I added a 7/8" Scallop Circle for the center and embellished with some Rhinestones.  My Happy Birthday was stamped on the top and my card is finished in no time.  The Washi Sheets have adhesive right on the back, so once you punch our cut out your design you just peel off the backing and place it right onto your project.

The Washi Sheets and Blossom Punch are both retiring but still available to purchase while supplies last.

Washi Tape Birthday

I really like the ease of using Washi Tape.  Just place and wrap it around your layer, use a lot or a little to get the look you want and you have a nice background for your card.  You don't have to use just the rolls that come together when you purchase them but have fun and mix and match to get the design and color combination you want.

I used Washi Tape from Sweet Dreams, Sweet Sadie, Retro Fresh, and Beach House packs.  I wanted to coordinate Crisp Cantaloupe and Pool Party for a soft summer birthday card and each of those packs had one roll that went perfectly.

I used one of the flowers from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and punched it out with the Flower Medallion Punch and added my sentiment to finish my card.  The flower and punch were purchased as a bundle to save me 15%.
