Ray of Sunshine and some Sneak Peeks

Today's card combines a current stamp set "Ray of Sunshine" with some new colors and Designer Series Paper.  The new color is Delightful Dijon which I used for my card base and also to stamp my sun.  The layer of Designer Series Paper is also new and it is called Bohemian.  This paper coordinates with two of my favorite returning colors, Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay and is a definite must have for those who like bright colors.

After I stamped my sun on a piece of Whisper White Card Stock I cut it out using my 1 3/4" Circle Punch and placed it onto my card with Dimensionals.  The sun rays were also stamped on Whisper White Card Stock and then cut out using my Paper Snips.  I placed them behind my sun using Glue Dots.

In addition, I embossed my card front using my Big Shot and the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  My sentiment was stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink and the edges of my punch were sponged with Delightful Dijon In.

You've Got This - Sneak Peek

One of my new stamp sets from the upcoming Annual Catalog called "You've Got This" was used for today's card.  It will be on display at my Open House next week.

Do you also spot the new In-Color?  It is called Mint Macaron and it was used for my Card Stock card base, inked background and ribbon.

Come back tomorrow to see another Sneak Peek.

Note - I will not be posting the product numbers until the catalog goes live June 2nd.

I just received and put together my May Paper Pumpkin Kit.  In under an hour I had all of the cards and gift bags made and ready to use.  I really love this kit, and the bright colors are so appropriate for this time of year.  The stamp set that comes with the kit is really great too.

Rock n' Roll Technique

I have been really busy getting ready for my June Open House, planning a "Baby Sprinkle" shower, and organizing my craft room, so I don't have a new project of mine to post today.

So, I thought that you might like watching this video created by Stampin' Up! showing the Rock n' Roll Stamping Technique.  In the video they use the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set which is being carried over into the new Annual Catalog.

Perfect Blend

Yes, good friends are the Perfect Blend, and this is another retiring stamp set I'm going to miss.  I paired it up with some retiring Basic Black 3/4" Chevron Ribbon, and layered it onto a piece of Typeset Designer Series Paper which fortunately will be continued in the new catalog in June.

To make my black center piece on the coffee cup I stamped the image in Black Memento ink onto a scrap piece of Basic Black Card Stock so I could see where I needed to cut it.  I punched some small hearts and placed them onto the center of the cups and cut my sentiment out using a Heart Framelit, another retiring product in the Annual Catalog in just a few weeks.

Bridal Shower Centerpieces

Last week I posted a picture of the empty Mason Jars I made for a bridal shower.  Here are a few filled with fresh flowers.  They really made a nice accent to the tables, were easy to make, and with individual sentiments stamped and tied onto each jar they were really appropriate for the bridal shower.

To add my ribbon I first placed a piece of Sticky Strip around each jar and then put on my pieces of
1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon. Next I tied on pieces of Wisteria Wonder 1/2" Seam Binding, stamped my sentiments and cut them out either using a framelit or punch.  I tied the sentiments onto the Wisteria Wonder Ribbon using Linen Thread.

This was a really inexpensive way to decorate three rooms.  The flowers smelled great, the sentiments were fun for people to read, and the mason jars can be used again for another occasion.

Washi Tape birthday

For this month's stamp class I am using a lot of products that will be retiring.  So, for my card today I used random pieces of Washi Tape to create my background.  I love how easy Washi Tape is to use.  You can create so many different patterns and designs, and mixing up your Washi Tape to create a different color palette is a lot of fun.

My card base is Basic Black Card Stock layered with a piece of Basic Gray.  To my Whisper White layer I added Washi Tape from the Sweet Sadie, Epic Day and Retro Fresh packs (along with one piece of black from a retired pack).  I punched some stars using scraps of Back to Black Designer Series Paper and stamped my birthday using Black Memento Ink.  This was punched using the retiring Artisan Label punch and placed onto my card with Dimensionals.  The Label Love Stamp Set and Artisan Label Punch can still be purchased as a bundle to save you 15% before they retire.
