Bookmarks with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch

Yesterday I posted a card that was made at a stamp class attended by beginner stampers.  Today I am showing the easy bookmarks that were also made using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  These go together  quickly thanks to the punch, and I really love when I can use my punches for a lot of different things.

As you can see, putting the bookmarks together is just as simple as layering some coordinating papers and adding embellishments.  When I came home from the class I had fun making extra bookmarks with the left over materials.  They would be nice to attach to a gift, or add with your card.  I think they would be really nice teacher or co-worker gifts too.

I am not going to list all of the products used in making the bookmarks,  but just the simple directions.

I cut my Card Stock to measure 5 1/2" x 2" and cut my Designer Series Paper layer to measure 5 1/2" x 1 3/4".  I then used my Snail Adhesive and put these two pieces together and then slid them into my Scallop Tag Topper Punch (#133324).  Some coordinating ribbon,  punched pieces and stamped sentiments finished them off.

Here is a picture of the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and also the Angled Tag Topper Punch which will also make it easy to make book marks.  I think I will use the Angled Tag Topper Punch for my masculine book marks.

Butterfly Birthday card and matching bookmark

If you want to add a little something to a card, why not make a coordinating book mark to go with it.  A little extra touch that makes the card more special.

My card starts with a base of Bashful Blue cardstock, followed by a layer of Midnight Muse, and then a Fancy Fan Embossed layer of Whisper White.   My frame was cut from the Designer Frames Folder and to this I sponged some Bashful Blue ink, and cut a piece of Old Olive cardstock to place in the bottom of the frame.  This was placed onto my card using dimensionals.  I then stamped and punched the two butterflies, and to their centers I added an additional Itty Bitty Punch Shape in Bashful Blue, and a small basic pearl.  Some Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Ribbon (the ribbon you can get for FREE this month with a $40 order) was tied around the two layers and then everything was placed onto my card base.  My birthday sentiment was stamped with Midnight Muse ink, punched out and placed directly onto the ribbon with Sticky Strip.

For my bookmark, I used Bashful Blue cardstock and cut one of the tags from the Two Tags Bigz Die using my Big Shot.  I also embossed this with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, and added my butterfly.  Note - to make the bookmark, when you cut the tag, you need use a larger piece of cardstock and fold it in half, and when you cut it out, place the fold directly above the bottom score line so you do not cut out two tags, but instead have a fold so you have a bookmark that can be placed over your pages.

The following were used:
Cardstock:  Bashful Blue #105120, Midnight Muse #126843, Whisper White #100730, Old Olive #100702
Ink:  Midnight Muse #126860, Bashful Blue #126961

Reason to Smile Blog Hop

Need a reason to smile? Hopefully by joining in the Reason to Smile blog hop, you will be inspired by all of the ideas surrounding this beautiful stamp set that is being offered during the month of July for $5.00 when you spend $50 on Stampin' Up! merchandise. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I hope you take the time to check out all of the blogs on the hop which is listed at the end of my post.
I am #5 on the list.

Adding a quick bookmark makes a cute gift too!
Easy to make using the Two Tags Bigz Die.
Fold your piece of cardstock in half, and keep the bottom of the die exposed so instead of cutting two tags, you get one large tag with a fold.

The picture on the right shows how the bookmark looks when it is opened.

For added embellishment I ran the bookmark through my Big Shot and embossed it with the Fancy Fan Folder.  I attached my flower on with dimensionals after I punched it out with the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle.

To make my card I started with Baja Breeze cardstock.  To this I added two layers, one with Primrose Petals cardstock and Patio Party Designer Series Paper, and one with Summer Starfruit and Whisper White cardstock.  To my Whisper White layer I first stamped my full flower image with Primrose Petal ink, and then added the second detailed flower image with Summer Starfruit ink.   To dress up the center of the flowers I added a Basic Pearl, and for further embellishment I tied on a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.  My "To My Friend" sentiment was placed on with dimensionals and is from the Friendly Phrases Stamp Set.  In addition, I used one of my templates from the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce the top corner of the card to add a different look.

The following were used:
Cardstock:  Baja Breee #111352, Primrose Petals #126841, Summer Starfruit #126839, Whisper White #100730     Designer Series Paper:  Patio Party #126916  Ink:  Primrose Petals #126858, Summer Starfruit 126991   Stamp Sets:  Reason to Smile #131274 wood or #131275,  Friendly Phrases #126149 wood or #126151 clear    Ribbon:  Primrose Petals 3/8"  Stitched Satin #126844    Embellishment:  Pearl Basic Jewels #119247  Punches:  Large Oval #119855, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle #119854  Tools:  Paper-Piercing Tool #126189, Stampin' Pierce Mat #126199, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack #126187, Big Shot #113439, Two Tags Bigz Die #115954, Fancy Fan Folder #127751  Adhesive:  Dimensionals #104430, Snail #104332

Paper Clip Bookmarks

Sorry, it's another quick post today.  It is my stamp class week, and my granddaughters birthday today, so I don't have time for a long post, but I wanted to share this easy project.

These are mediumn sized paper clips that I attached with a variety of cardstock and Designer Series Paper.  I used a variety of punches to get different looks.  Most of the buttons I purchased on the Clearance Rack at a great bargain, and once again, this is a great project to use up some of your scraps.  For each clip I used cardstock for the back, and attached some Sticky Strip to hold it together.  I then placed sticky strip onto the Designer Series punched piece and placed this on the top.  The buttons were also put on with Sticky Strip.

This also works great using the Owl and Bird punch for a different look.  They sell great at craft fairs too.

Supples used:
A variety of cardstock, designer series paper, designer buttons and sticky strip - All Stampin' Up! products.

Play Date Bookmark and Party Favor

Grab your Big Shot and the Two Tags Bigz Die to quickly make cute little thank you gifts for a child's birthday party.

After I cut the Die with my paper, I just added an extra scallop circle punch and my stamped owl to make the bookmark.  I didn't add anything extra to the big tag except the lollipop.  This project could easily be made by the children themselves with a little guidance from you, and you can substitute any type of treat if you didn't want to hand out candy.

If this project was for older children or adults, just change the paper to fit the occasion.  These would also be cute for teacher appreciation gifts.  Add a nice pen or pencil to the tag, and use different DSP.

For today's project I used the following:
Designer Series Paper:  Play Date #117168
Stamp Set:  Forest Friends #113748
Ink:  Early Espresso #119670
Cardstock:  Certain Celery #105125
Accessories:  Big Shot #113439, Two Tags bigz Die #115954
Punch:  Scallop Circle #119854

Jumbo Paper Clip Bookmarks

These jumbo paper clip bookmarks would be a nice teacher appreciation gift, or attach to mom's favorite book for Mother's Day.

I purchased the paper clips at a local home office store, and embellished them with a variety of punches, cardstock and designer series paper.  To keep the design on the paper clip, I punched two of each of the larger designs and adhered them using sticky strip.  I then embellished the front.

These would be a fun project for your local library, scout troop, or after school program too!

To make the bookmarks I used the following:
Cardstock:  Real Red #102482, Pacific Point #111350, Bashful Blue #105120, Pear Pizzazz #119795, Early Espresso #119686, Crumb Cake #120953
Designer Series Paper:  Greenhouse Gala #117167, Brights Paper Stack #117155, Love Letter #117162

Gift Boxes and Bookmarks

All of these Teacher Appreciation Gifts - the Gift Box, Bookmark, and Thank You Card were made using one pack of Designer Series Paper, and 3 pieces of assorted cardstock. Best of all, I purchased the Designer Series Paper when it was on the Clearance Rack, so it was really a bargain, and I even have some paper left over to make a few more boxes. I will fill the boxes with some Hershey Kisses placed in a cello bag and tied with coordinating ribbon. Check out today's two other posts for supplies used for the box and bookmark. The 3 x 3 thank you cards were made using assorted cardstock, and the scallop oval and small oval punch. The saying on the card was from the Oval All Stamp Set #113790.

Bookmark

Sorry I posted my blog entries out of order today. The second entry shows the completed gift box and bookmark.

Here are the step by step instructions for making the bookmark:
Using the Petal Card Bigz Die run your paper through your Big Shot Machine and this is what it looks like:

Next, fold down two of the flaps and using sticky strip adhere them together. Now you can stop here and you would have a really nice favor just by itself, but to make the book mark turn the paper over and adhere the other two sides:

Now you have your reversible book mark.

For the bookmark I used the following:
Big Shot Machine #113439, Premium Crease Pad #113476 (keeps lines from cutting through), Petal Card Bigz Die #113467
Designer Series Paper: Summer Picnic
Sticky Strip #104294
