New packaging for my Tea Bag Gift Sets

I have made Tea Bag Gift sets in the past, and usually use the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die to make the holder.  But, I wanted to try to package it differently this year since I was hoping to find a way to use the large mug from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and coordinating Framelit.  This is what I came up with for this year's sets.

I made the actual tea bag treat the same, what is different is the packaging I put it in.  If you want to get the dimensions on how to make the tea bag treat, just go to labels in the left hand column and click on tea bag treat to get all of the dimensions.

I used a 4" x 6" Cellophane Bag to place the tea bag holder and mints in.  I decorated it by cutting a piece of 4" x 4" Real Red cardstock and scoring it at 2" to make the fold.  I then stapled this onto my bag before adding my next layer of 3 3/4" x 1 3/4" Old Olive cardstock, and the typed tea bag sentiment.  My mug of tea was stamped with Soft Suede ink, and then cut out using my Big Shot and the Holiday Collection Framelits.  A small pearl was placed in the center of the mug, and it was secured onto the bag using dimensionals.   In addition, the sentiment and stamped images on the actual tea bag set were changed as well.

These make great gifts for co-workers and teachers, and cute stocking stuffers too!

A Woman is Like a Tea Bag

Holder and Tea Bag Insert

Inside Insert

Opened Tea Bag Insert
I have had request to make these tea bag holders for Christmas gifts, and recently was asked to make them again, using Spring/Summer colors.  I changed the colors and the saying but the dimenions are the same as the one I posted on 11/5/10.  If you would like to make some yourself, click on the link "Tea Bag Treats" listed under my labels in the left hand column, and you will find the dimensions.

The holder was made by using my Big Shot and cutting two Scallop Envelopes, and attaching them together.  Concord Crush 1/2" Stitched Poly Ribbon and a In Color Designer Printed Brad not only decorated it, but also held the saying in place.  The tea bag insert was made using Blushing Bride cardstock, and added layers of Concord Crush and Whisper White.  The Triple Treat Flower stamp was used to decorate the front, and the cup stamped on the inside is from Itty Bitty Bits.  An additional strip of Concord Crush was punched with the Eyelet Border punch to decorate the inside. Before the front layer was attached, I tied some Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon around it.

The following were used:
Cardstock:  Blushing Bride #119796, Concord Crush #119792, Whisper White #100730

Christmas Tea

Just finishing up making gift items for a Craft Fair that I will be doing tomorrow at the Plainfield Township Fire Company.  Oh, I wish I had more time, because there are so many more things I wish I could make, but really wanted to add these cute tea bag gift items so I stayed up late last night to complete 24 of them.  I thought that if they don't sell they would make cute gifts to give my relatives as a little favor for my family Christmas Party that I host the week before Christmas.

Now, I wish I could give credit to all the Stampin' Up! demonstrators who also make these cute items, but most of the inspiration for this one comes from Holly Krautkremer who made here as a get well.  I just changed my design, but used her dimensions.  So thanks Holly for sharing your great idea with all of us.  I also can not take credit for the cute saying, that came from Sandy Risi's blog and I thought it would add a nice touch to complete the gift ensemble.

To start you need a piece of cardstock measuring 7 x 3 1/4.  Score this at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".  Now you have the template and just use your creativity to decorate it as you wish.  I added two layers of Real Red cardstock cut at 2 1/2 x 3 both for the front and inside layers, and the layer that is decorated measures 2 1/4 x 2 3/4, and I used Whisper White cardstock to stamp my images.  Two Old Olive brads were used to embellish the front and dimensionals were used to raise it up so I could slide my ribbon through.  The ribbon is from the Clearance Rack and was placed under the front sentiment, and cut so it was long enough that I could easily tie it closed when finished.  I stamped just a few snowflakes on the inner left panel to leave room if people wanted to add a little note.  The side that holds the tea bag was embellished by punching Real Red cardstock with the Eyelet Border Punch.  Snail adhesive was run along the sides and folded on the score line to hold everything in place.  Tie it up and you have a cute treat.   I didn't want to put these in a bag but needed some way to package them, so I ran two pieces of Real Red cardstock through my Big Shot Machine using the Scallop Envelope Bigx Die and put them together to create this box.  Old Olive Satin Ribbon and a brad also from the Clearance Rack decorated the box, and the holes were punched using my Crop-a-Dile.

I just checked out the clearance rack again, and the real red ribbon and brad I used are no longer available, that is why I am not listing them under items used below.

To make the tea bag gift set I used the following:
Cardstock:  Real Red #102482, Old Olive #100702, Whisper White #100730
