Saying goodbye to the Bird Builder Punch

When I designed this card for April's Stamp Class I didn't know the Bird Builder Punch would be retiring.  I'm glad we got to use it one last time at a class.

My card base of Soft Sky Card Stock was layered with a piece of Whisper White Card Stock that was stamped with the Watercolor Wash Stamp.  I added a piece of Bermuda Bay 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Sahara Sand 7/8" Lace rim.  I then punched my bird with a piece of Sahara Sand Designer Series Paper, added a small pearl for his eye, and punched a few small hearts.  My Mother's Day sentiment is covered up with my Watermark, but this is a card you could use for many different occasions.

Additional products that I used which are also retiring are both ribbons, and the Hearts Border Punch.

Build a Birthday

The "Build a Birthday" Stamp Set will be available when the new catalog comes out in June, so here is another card from my April Stamp Class that uses this cute set.  So happy this set will be around for awhile longer because it works well for birthday cards for any age.

The colors I used were  Lost Lagoon and Daffodil Delight for both my card stock and ink.  I stamped several layers for my birthday cake, and for some added embellishment I cut a small piece of doily.

From the products I used, Lost Lagoon is one of the retiring In-Colors, and the Tea Lace Doilies are also retiring.

Bear Hugs

The Bear Hugs Stamp Set and Coordinating Framelits are staying!  I was happy to see that they will both be carried over into the new Annual Catalog, but if you want to get them bundled together at a 15% discount you need to do it before the Occasions Catalog ends on May 31st.

My card base of Crumb Cake Card Stock was layered with a piece of Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper which is retiring May 31st.  I cut this layer with a Circle Framelit (also retiring), and placed my stamped and cut bear behind the cut out.  My sentiment was punched with the Washi Label Punch which I'm sorry to say is no longer available, and the punched hearts are from the Itty Bitty accents Punch Pack, retiring May 31st as well, or until supplies last.

Unfortunately at this time of year, as we wait for the new catalog and new products, some of our favorites are being retired.  Here are a few things to remember.
  • Due to high demand for retiring stamps,  Stampin' Up! will keep producing retiring stamps until May 22
  • Accessories will be available while supplies last
  • The lists of retiring products will be updated every business day by 4:00 PM (MT).
So if you see something you like don't wait too long to purchase it because a few items that have been retired are already gone.

Side Collar Card

Instead of making a collar card that would be cute for Father's Day, I cut the collar on the side to make a birthday card.  To make the collar,  score your layer from the right side to the center of the card , and then cut on the score line.  Fold the cut sides back and and then decorate your card to suit the occasion.

They are easy to make, and if you wanted to make one for Father's Day to represent a shirt collar, just do the same but score and cut on the top of your layer instead of the side.

A Great Big Thank You!

Yes, the large sentiment says it all - A Great Big Thanks!  If you like this set, Designer Series Paper, and the coordinating Framelit don't wait too long to purchase them because they all are being retired. A lot of my favorites will be leaving, but you still have time to get them while they last, and some of the products are up to 50% off.

Note - The Oh My Goodies Stamp Set in wood mount is on sale at 25% off.

For this card, to make the sentiment really stand out, I cut a larger Deco Label Framelit onto my Designer Series Paper, and then stamped my sentiment and cut this out with a smaller Framelit and placed it onto my layer with Dimensionals.
