Moon Baby

I finally took a break from making items for my craft fairs to make a baby card for a friend.  She is expecting her little bundle of joy soon and I am happy to be able to share this exciting time with her.

For my layer I  used a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Myths &  Magic pack, because I thought the stars in the background were a perfect match for my "Moon Baby".  I stamped my baby onto Whisper White Card Stock, cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Framelit and punched out a little star (retired punch), to attach it where the stamped star was.  I also used some of the new glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes on the moon for a bit more embellishment.

Baby Shower Invitation

I covered the information, but you can still see how stylish the Oh Baby! Single Stamp makes the Baby Shower Invitation.  The Single Stamps can not be found in any of the Stampin' Up! Catalogs, but they can be seen at my online store.  There are some really cute images, and it is nice to be able to buy only one stamp if that is all you need.  All Single Stamps come in Clear Mount.

My card base is Old Olive Card Stock that measures 8 3/4 x 3 3/4.   I printed the invitation wording using my computer, and then cut it down to measure 8 1/2 x 3 1/2.  You can get two invitations printed using one piece of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and still have card stock left over for future use.

I then stamped my mother-to-be using Old Olive Ink, and then ran that part through my Big Shot using the Chevron Embossing Folder.  I added some Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding (retiring soon) and attached this layer to my Old Olive Card Stock.

I like to make this size invitation if you don't have a lot of additional information needed.  They fit nicely into  #9 envelope (they measure 3 7/8" x 8 7/8") and require no extra postage.

Baby Shower Invitations and Thank You

These are the baby shower invitations and thank you cards I made for a friends daughter-in-law who is expecting their first child.  It will be nice for the mother to be to have a supply of coordinating thank you cards on hand to send out after her shower.

Both the invitations and cards were made using Night of Navy, Old Olive, and Whisper White cardstock.  The sailboat is from a retired stamp, and the wording for the invitation was printed using my computer.  I added Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon (retiring today) to the invitation, and also embossed the top of the invitation with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, (after I stamped my image).  The thank you card was made by folding my Night of Navy cardstock in half, and cutting the scallop circle using the Scallop Circle Bigz Die.  When cutting the cardstock, in order to make the bib and not cut two separate circles, I left the top four scallops exposed and placed my fold line just below those four scallops.  I then cut a small opening with my 1" circle punch.  The additional circles were cut with my Circle Scissors Plus (also retiring today).  Some silver brads were added at the top to secure my Night of Navy ribbon (retiring).

Remember, today is the last day to get your retiring items, if they haven't already sold out.  So, don't wait any longer if there are some items you really don't want to be without.

The following were used:
Cardstock:  Night of Navy #100867, Old Olive #100702, Whisper White #100730
Ink:  Night of Navy #102977
Ribbon:  Night of Navy 1/4" Grosgrain #109036 and Old Olive 5/8" Satin #117292 (both retiring today)
Embellishment:  Metallic Brads #119741
Tools:  Circle Scissors Plus #112530 (retiring), Big Shot #113439, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder #117335, Scallop Circle Bigz Die #113468
Punch:  1" Circle #119868

Baby Shower Invitations

I was asked to made baby shower invitations for a friend.  The bedding is from Pottery Barn and I tried to capture the colors and pattern in the sheets for the invitation.  I made two samples and not sure which one will be used.  A few adjustments might have to be made depending on her style, but it was fun coming up with some new designs.

Invitation #2 - Inside will have information.

Check back to see which one she selected and to see if any changes will be made.  I will then post what supplies and products were used.  I would love to hear your comments and let me know which one you would choose.
