Gift Box Birthday Card?

Well, it really isn't a gift box, but I think the design of this card makes it look a little bit like a present.  At least that is the look I was going for.

My card base is Midnight Muse Card Stock with a layer of Very Vanilla and Etcetera Designer Series Paper. I then tied some Old Olive 1/8"  Taffeta Ribbon around my layer to make it look more like a package.  I stamped my sentiment onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and then punched it out with the Angled Tag Topper Punch.  Some more Old Olive Ribbon was added to the tag, and the tag was placed onto the card with Dimensionals.

The inside of my card says "That makes you one in a million".  I love when the stamp sets with sentiments have sayings for the inside of the card too.

The following were used:
Card Stock:  Midnight Muse #126843, Very Vanilla #101650
Designer Series Paper:  Etcetera #130129
Ink: Midnight Muse #126860

Punch:  Angled Tag Topper #133323
Ribbon:  Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta #119256

Secret Garden Sympathy Card

I brought out another Stamp Set I haven't used in awhile, the "Secret Garden" set which has a coordinating Framelit which I also used for my sympathy card.

The right side of my layer was inked with the Very Vintage Wheel and I also added some Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon and a Subtle Button tied with some Linen Thread.

Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape

I had a Washi Tape Class last month and the ladies really liked it so I will be doing another one with the Washi Tape available in the Occasions Catalog.  Here is one of the cards that uses the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape.  I think these classes are really popular because the Washi Tape is really easy to use and looks great too.

My card base is Old Olive Card Stock with a layer of Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  I placed my Washi Tape down and then added a piece of Old Olive Card Stock that was embossed with the Argyle Embossing Folder and cut with a Banners Framelits Die.  I stamped my sentiment with Old Olive Ink and also cut this out with a Banners Framelits Die.  My stars were cut out with paper snips and placed on with dimensionals.

Swallowtail

To get the different colors on my butterfly I used three different embossing powders.  Up close the butterfly really sparkles and was one of the favorite cards at this months stamp class.

My card base is Wild Wasabi Card Stock with a layer of Pool Party and Whisper White.  I stamped my butterfly with Versa Mark Ink and sprinkled it with Pool Party, Smoky Slate, and Wild Wasabi Emboss Powder.  The important thing to remember is to place the remaining emboss powder back in the container each time before you add another color.  I then heated the entire image with my heat tool.

There are so many pretty embossing powders offered by Stampin' Up! so have fun experimenting with all of the colors.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Wild Wasabi #108641, Pool Party #122924, Whisper White #100730

Stamp Sets: Lots of Thanks #129687 w or #129690, Swallowtail #131943 w or #129216 c

Create a Cupcake

It is time to bring out some products that I haven't used in awhile.  When a new catalog comes out I get so excited creating with new things that I sometimes forget about all of the other great products I have.  So when I started preparing for this month's stamp classes I made it a point to look on my shelves and see what I haven't used in awhile and saw the cupcake punch and knew I wanted to use it for a fun birthday card.

My card base is Whisper White Card Stock that I layered with a piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper.  I didn't use the stamp set for my cupcake I just punched out the icing with another piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Paper, and my cupcake wrapper is a piece of Early Espresso Core'dinations Card Stock that I embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder.  I then sanded this punched piece to make it look more authentic.

I placed these pieces onto a Whisper White circle cut with a Circle Framelit,  and added  a piece of Crushed Curry 3/4" Chevron Ribbon behind it.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Whisper White #100730, Bermuda Bay #131197,  Neutrals Core'dinations #129956
Designer Series Paper: Kaleidoscope #132995
Ink: Bermuda Bay #131171

Happy Watercolor

Spring is almost here, so it's time for me to start stamping with soft colors and pretty flowers again, and  I love the soft look the images in the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set give you.

My card base is Pistachio Pudding Card Stock with a layer of Coastal Cabana and Whisper White.  My Watercolor images are in Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana Ink, and my flower was stamped on using Early Espresso.  The flower looks darker in the picture than it does in person.

I added some 7/16" Trim around my layers and found these really cute flowers to punch out of a piece of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper, and added them to my trim for a bit more embellishment.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Pistachio Pudding #131294, Coastal Cabana #131297, Whisper White #100730
Designer Series Paper:  Venetian Romance #130144
Ink: Pistachio Pudding #131177, Coastal Cabana #131176, Baked Brown Sugar #131174, Early Espresso #126974

Scalloped Tag Topper Card and Bookmark - Updated with more photos!

This is the card and bookmark that was made recently at my last workshop.  Once you have your dimensions down for cutting the card it really is easy to make.  With the absence of a video to show you I will try to explain how I cut the card.  My camera battery also just went dead and I am recharging it, so once I can take more pictures I will post them so you can see step by step how I made this.

You cut your card stock the same you would for any standard card.  To start it measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  Then you need to find the center of the card on the 5 1/2" side.  A trick I learned from another demonstrator was to take your card stock and line it up on a piece of Stampin' Up! Grid Paper.  You will notice that the paper has different markings on all of the sides. Using the side where the paper  measurements are marked 20 on the left and 20 on the right, line up your card stock between the two 7 markings.  Now the 0 marking will be your center.   Place a little mark here at the top of your card stock, and then do the same at the bottom of your card stock.  Remember you are marking the 5 1/2" sides of your card stock.  These marks are where you will punch with the Scallop Tag Topper.

Once you have your card stock punched you want to cut away the remaining layer of card stock up to where the scallop tag was punched.  Now for just one of the scalloped tag punched edges you want to score and fold it in.  If you look at my card the right scalloped punched piece is folded in, the left one is not scored and folded.  After you do this you want to place the right side with the scalloped tag folded in on your Simply Scored Scoring Tool and now score at 4 1/4".

Now when you fold your card you have the two scalloped pieces meeting so you can tie them together, and the card is still a standard sized card.

Whew - I hope I didn't confuse you more and that some of that makes sense.  If you have any questions feel free to comment or send me an e-mail.  I will come back later with more pictures for a better explanation and all of the measurements for my layers.

Update - ** Layering sizes.  For the front panel the Card Stock measures 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" and the Designer Series Paper meaxures 2 1/4" x 5".  The inside has a piece of Whisper White Card Stock cut to 5 1/4" x 4".

To make the bookmark you need to start with a piece of card stock that measures 2" in width and you can make the length as short or long as you would like.  You can layer your Designer Series Paper right on top and punch both pieces at the same time.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Daffodil Delight #119683, Tangerine Tango #111349, Whisper White #100730
Designer Series Paper: Watercolor Wonder #132994
Ink: Daffodil Delight #126944, Tangerine Tango #236946

Ribbon:  Daffodil Delight 1/2" Seam Binding #125583, Linen Thread #104199

Trefoil Cross Easter Card

I really wanted my Cross to be the main focus of my card, so I stamped it with Versa Mark Ink and Embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder.

My card base is Whisper White Card Stock that I layered with a piece of Perfect Plum and then another Whisper White layer that was layered with pieces of Gold Washi Tape from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape pack.  I cut some Brushed Gold Cardstock with a Labels Collection Framelit and placed it behind my Cross which was cut out with a smaller Labels Collection Framelit.    My sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen Set which has a lot of great sentiments for 12 different occasions.

The following were used:

Scallop Tag Topper Punch Easter Egg Holder

I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to  make these Easter Egg Treat Holders.  They were simple to make, and I really like when my punches can be used for a lot of different projects.

Here is how I made them:

I cut my Card Stock to measure 2" x 11" and then punched each end.

I scored my cut piece at 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" and then folded on the score lines.  This is where I placed my plastic candy filled egg.  I placed Sticky Strip on the bottom and two sides of the egg sides that were attached to the holder.  I also placed a piece of Sticky Strip right under the punched top on the left hand side and pressed the two punched ends together.  This created a good hold for the egg.

Here is a side view with the egg inside.

I wrapped a piece of Designer Series Paper measuring 3/4" x 5 1/4" around the top, and embellished with a coordinating button and some ribbon to the top.  My sentiment from the Eggstrata Spectacular Stamp Set was punched out with the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and placed on with a Dimensional.  I coordinated my egg with the Card Stock color, but you really could decorate them any way you want depending on who you are making them for.  A fun and easy project to make using a new punch from the Occasions Catalog.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Elegant Eggplant #105126, Real Red #102482, Pumpkin Pie #105117, Wild Wasabi #108641, Whisper White #100730

Tag a Bag Gift Boxes for Easter

For Christmas I used the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes to make K Cup treat boxes.  I thought why not do the same for Easter.  I made them sturdier this time by adding an insert for the K Cups to fit right into.  Here is what they look like with some directions if you would like to make some yourself.

I started making the insert by cutting a piece of So Saffron Card Stock - 7 1/2" x 3 1/4".  I scored it at 1/2" x 7" on the long side, and then again at 1/2" x 2 3/4" on the short side.  I cut the corners and folded on my score lines to fit them into the boxes.

For the circles I used the 1/2" Circle Framelit.

This is what it looks like when you place it inside the Tag a Bag Gift Box.

I then filled them with my K Cups which stay firmly in place.

Now a little extra treat of chocolate and some and crinkled paper for decoration.

Here is the finished product.  I don't like to cover the whole package because I want people to see what is inside.  I sell these at Craft Fairs and don't want to have to be opening them, and I think they look nicer when you can see what is inside.  I tied it with some Marina Mist 3/4" Chevron Ribbon and added the Happy Easter Egg tied on with Linen Thread.

The following were used:
Supplies:  Tag a Bag Gift Boxes #130927
Ribbon:  Marina Mist 3/4" Chevron Ribbon #130016, Linen Thread 104199
Stamp Set:  Eggstra Spectacular #133068 w or #133071 c
Ink:  Marina Mist #126962
Card Stock:  Whisper White #100730, So Saffron #105118
Punch:  Extra Large Oval #119859

"Chick Peeps" for Easter

I love all the colorful "Chick" Peeps candies they have out for Easter, and they fit nicely into the 4" x 6" Cellophane Bags.  They will be part of my Easter items for sale at my Spring Craft Fairs.

I cut my 4" x 6" bag about an inch from the top so it measures 4" x 5", so there is less room between the top of the bag and the items in the bag.  The top was made by cutting a Top Note Bigz Die and and adding punched pieces for the face, and I used my Fringe Scissors to cut the hair at the top.

I added my treats and the Happy Easter sentiment that punched out with the Word Window Punch.

I also made "Bunny Peep" bags and I did show them to you last year, but thought I would show a picture again of the ones I did this year.

I love matching the peep with our Card Stock and ink.  These were also made with the Top Note Bigz Die and a variety of punches for the face.

The following were used:
Card Stock:  Wisteria Wonder #122922, Daffodil Delight #119683, Pink Pirouette #111351, Pumpkin Pie #105117, Whisper White #100730
Ink:  Wisteria Wonder #126985, Daffodil Delight #126944, Pink Pirouette #126956, Pumpkin Pie #126945
Accessories:  4" x 6" Cellophane Bags #102757
Tools:  Big Shot #113439, Top Note Bigz Die #113463, Fringe Scissors #133325
Punches:  1 1/4" Circle #119861, 1" Circle #119868, 3/4" Circle #119863, Extra Large Oval #119859, Large Oval #119855, Word Window #119857

The Open Sea

Another masculine birthday card with the help of "The Open Sea" Stamp Set.  Also makes me think of summer.  I hope it gets here soon!

My card base is Night of Navy Card Stock.  To that I added some stamped images onto a layer of Smoky Slate Card Stock that I embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and cut out the Square opening  using a Square Framelit.   I then stamped more images onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and cut that out with another smaller Square Framelit.

I love how you can place your Framelits anywhere on your card and cut them out.  Now, I love my punches too, but the Framelits give you so much more flexibility with design.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Night of Navy #100867, Smoky Slate #131202, Whisper White #100730
Ink: Basic Gray #126981, Smoky Slate #131179
Stamp Set:  The Open Sea #128454 w or #123032 c
Tools:  Big Shot #113439, Square Lattice Embossing Folder #119976, Square Collection Framelits #130921
