Simply Scored Background

The ladies wanted to do some cards using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, so I searched what other demonstrators were making using this product and saw this fun design on a similar card by Demonstrator Deb Henderson.  Her card used different punches and stamp sets, but the idea of scoring and then highlighting the score lines with a marker was CASED from Deb.

To my card base of Raspberry Ripple Card Stock I added a piece of Whisper White that was  scored using my Scoring Tool.  Next, I took my Early Espresso Marker, and using the thin tip I ran this along the same score lines to highlight the scored lines.

I then cut the flowers using a Secret Garden Framelit and my Big Shot.  I like using the Framelits because, unlike a punch, you can place them anywhere on your card to get the design you want.  I then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the coordinating flowers and stamped them through the openings.

I added my sentiment cut out with a Itty Banners Framelit, and for extra embellishment I added some In Color Dahlias.

Fan Fair - Masculine Birthday Card

If you are looking for a Designer Series Paper that has great colors for masculine cards, you will love Fan Fair DSP.   I really like the designs too, but don't forget that the DSP is double sided, so you will also get some great papers in this same pack for feminine cards too.

My card base is More Mustard cardstock, that I layered with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that was scored with my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to add a bit of embellishment and a nice place to put my Soft Suede ribbon.  I punched a variety of circles in different sizes with my Fan Fair Designer Paper, and layered some of them on with dimensionals.  My sentiment on the front goes great with the inside saying that reads, "that makes you one in a million".

If you like to have sentiments that coordinate on both the front and inside of your card, One in a Million, that was used today, and Petite Pairs are two sets that have coordinating sentiments.

The following were used:
Cardstock:  More Mustard #100946, Very Vanilla #101650
Designer Series Paper:  Fan Fair #126918
Ink:  Soft Suede #126978
Stamp Set:  One in a Million #126380 wood or #126382 clear
Ribbon:  Soft Suede 3/8" Taffeta #122967
Punches:  3/4" Circle #119873, 1" Circle #119868, 1 1/4" Circle #119861

Graduation Card using the Brick Technique

Thanks to Stampin' Up! demonstrator Aimee Cretsinger who was the inspiration for today's card.  It makes a great graduation card, and was easy to make using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

To my Cajun Craze cardbase, I added a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock that was first scored in random 1/4" increments, and then sponged with Cajun Craze and Early Espresso ink.  I then added more to the background by stamping images from the soon to be retired Stamp Set, Extreme Elements.  The center sentiment is from the Word Play Stamp Set, a great set that can be used for 12 different occasions.

In person you can really see the scored lines which give the illusion of brick.  To further that design, I cut out random scored pieces and the also scored the Cajun Craze pieces that show through.

The following were used:
Cardstock:  Cajun Craze #119684, Very Vanilla #101650
Ink:  Cajun Craze #119671, Early Espresso #119670
Stamp Sets:  Extreme Elements #115181 (retiring 5/31), Word Play #120308 wood or #120651 clear
Tools:  Simply Scored Scoring Tool #122334, Stamping Sponges #101610

Posy Punch for Easter or any occasion

Well, I had to play with my new diagonal scoring tool, so I used it to help me score and then cut even triangles for my card layer.  Since my layer measures 4" square, I just placed it on the Diagonal Scoring Tool and scored from the first diagonal line up to 2".  I turned the square until I had all four lines scored and then just cut away.  I now also have two extra triangles for my next project.

My card base is Baja Breeze cardstock followed by a layer of Twitterpated Designer Series Paper that measures 5 1/4" x 4" and then another piece of Twitterpated DSP that was used to create my triangles.  I stamped my Posy Punch flower in Baja Breeze ink and punched it out with the Fancy Flower Punch before layering it onto my Whisper White, Baja Breeze, and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  A Twitterpated Designer Button was added to the center of the flower for embellishment.  My sentiment made this an Easter card, but this card could be used for so much more.   I will probably make a few more and just wait to put on the appropriate sentiment when I need another card to send.

If you want to order your own Simply Scored Diagonal Plate you can go to my online store and get yours today.  The plate is #125586 and sells for $11.95.  It is great for making your own custom envelopes too.  The plate fits on top of the Simply Scored Scoring Tool that is in the Occasions Mini Catalog, and the two are used together.

Simply Scored Background

I wanted to create a tile background so I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool and scored in 1" increments.  To further accent the background I ran ink over the scored piece using my Brayer.  I like the way the ink highlighted the lines, and added color to my Whisper White cardstock.

My card base is Tangerine Tango, and is layered with a piece of Regal Rose and the Whisper White cardstock that was scored and inked with the brayer.  I stamped two flowers from the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and punched them out with the Blossom punch.  I added a 5/16" Neutral brad to the center of each flower and also added a strip of Melon Mambo 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon, along with my stamped and punched sentiment.

So I could score at 1" increments, my layer of Whisper White cardstock was cut to measure 5" x 4".  This made it easy for me to score and I like the even lines.

The following were used:
Cardstock:  Tangerine Tango #111349, Regal Rose #105130, Whisper White #100730
Stamp Sets:  Mixed Bunch #125535 wood or #15537 clear (Occasions Mini), Friendly Phrases #126149 wood or #126151 clear
Ink:  Tangerine Tango #111834, Regal Rose #105211
Punches:  Blossom #125603 (Occasions Mini), Scallop Oval #119856
Ribbon:  Melon Mambo 1/2" Scallop Dots #122985
Embellishment:  5/16" Neutral Brad #112534

Quilted Thanks

Use your Simply Scored Scoring Tool and you can create a quilted background for your card in a snap.  To create even lines my Whisper White layer measures 3 3/4" x 5" and is scored first at 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" and then turned and scored at 1", 2", 3", and 4".

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock, and then added a layer of Cajun Craze and Whisper White which was stamped with my images first and then  scored to create my quilted background.  After it was scored I sponged some additional Crumb Cake ink to my stamped layer.  My Cajun Craze 1 1/4" Striped Ribbon was first tied together with Linen Thread to create a nice fold and a place to put my Basic Glimmer Brad.  A Tiny Tag was punched and stamped with an additional sentiment.

Experiment with your Simply Scored Scoring Tool and you can create all types of backgrounds, lines, folds, and edges on your card or project.
