Festival of Trees

I hope some of you have started receiving your new Occasions Catalog.  If you did, you will see that the Festival of Trees Stamp Set and punch are being carried over.  That is great news for me.  The ladies at my December Stamp Class like the card we made using this set and punch, and they wanted me to design another one for the January Class using a different sentiment.  The one I am posting today is my December Card, and the new one I made for my January class changes the colors of my background a bit, uses a different tree and changed my sentiment to read Happy Birthday.  A great way to maximize your sets and continue to create with a design you like.
This is not my original design but is taken from several I have seen made by other demonstrators. I just changed a few colors and the sentiment.  Thanks everyone for sharing your creativity and ideas.

Ornamental Pine

Outside and Inside of one of my Christmas Cards.

Here is one of the Christmas cards I sent out this year.  I really love the Ornamental Pine Stamp Set.  I also used this set to make coasters, and made a Shutter Card with this set as well.  You can't really see it in the picture, but I added Dazzling Details to the leaves and pine cone to give the effect of snow and it really sparkles.  My ornament was heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder, and I sponged some Crumb Cake ink around the pines to give a softer look.  I love being able to send handmade cards out all throughout the year, but Christmas is my favorite time of the year to create.  I also like to add an inside sentiment to my Christmas cards, and thought the added pine stamping in the corner was a nice touch.
To heat emboss, first stamp your image with Versa Mark Ink and then add your embossing powder and heat.  It is really a simple technique that adds such a nice touch.  I hand snipped my ornament and placed it onto my card using dimensionals.

Sassy Salutations

If you want your sentiment to stand out, stamp it onto your card stock, cut it out using one of your favorite Framelits, and layer it onto another piece of card stock and Designer Series Paper that was also cut out with a framelit and placed on for layering.  Add a few stars and a some Candy Dots and you have a birthday card that can be sent to anyone.
The Sassy Salutations Stamp Set has nice large sentiments for many occasions.  It is also one of the sets in the Annual Catalog that has a "Merry Christmas" stamp so don't forget to use it for your holiday cards.

Choose Happiness

Everyone needs a friend, and this is the perfect card to let yours know how much they mean to you.  I really like the font used in the sentiment, it almost looks hand written
To add texture to my bird's wing I sponged some Baked Brown Sugar ink onto it, and added a small pearl for his eye.  A few pearls also embellished my vines, and a strip of Blackberry Bliss Ribbon created a nice place for my bird to sit.
