Make and Take from Baltimore Regional

Not only did I receive many great swaps at the Baltimore Regional Event, I also came home with some ideas from the creative team at Stampin' Up!.  During the one day event, we were also able to do three make and take projects.  This is the card we made.

I finally tried making my own Smooch Spritz after I made this card last Saturday.  Really easy to do. Just fill the clear Stampin' Spritzer about 3/4 with Rubbing Alcohol, add a few drops of your ink and you are good to go.  For this card we used Gumball Green ink.  To create the edge of green, we used Sponge Daubers, and the circles were sponged using a template we made by punching circles with our circle punch.

Stampin' Spritzers are #126185 and you get two for $2.95.  A great and economical way to create different backgrounds and textures to your projects.

Dyed Gold Bow

Yes, I like the card better with the bow dyed gold to match the gold embossing on the antlers and the Smooch Spritz on the card front.  Now it all goes together!

I started the card by embossing a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock with the Northern Flurry embossing folder. I then added Gold Glow Smooch Spritz to the front of the card. I colored over Dasher's body with a Chocolate Chip Marker and went over the antlers with the Versa Mark marker and stamped this onto a piece of Whispe White cardstock.  I heat embossed the antlers with gold embossing powder.  This stamped image was layered onto a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock.    I first tied a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon onto the card, but later decided to dye it gold using my retired Gold Metallic ink.  To do this, I too a small piece of a Stamping Sponge and layed the ribbon on top of the ink pad.  I held the ribbon down with the sponge and held the end of the ribbon in my fingers and  ran the ribbon over the stamp pad a few times until I got the coverage I wanted.  I let it dry for a few minutes and then tied it onto my card.  I like this look better, and dying ribbon is easy using this technique.

To make today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze #111352, Whisper White #100730, Brushed Gold #102935

Thank You Gift Set

Need a small present in a hurry, make a group of cards with a coordinating holder and you have a nice
gift set ready to go.  I always try to keep some on hand because you never know when you might need them.

I used all of the new In-Colors to make this gift set. For the cards I embossed the top layer, sprayed it with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (hard to see in the pictures), and added the coordinating ribbon. The holder was made with a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 Peach Parfait cardstock cut down to 6 1/2 x 11 and scored on the bottom to create a base, and then punched on top for the ribbon. The cards while simple, are still pretty, and would be perfect for a man or a woman.  Gift sets are also really nice to give to a bride to be, a new mother, or anyone you know who will need to send out a lot of cards for a particular occasion.  Change the sentiment to fit the event, use the person's favorite color or design, and you have a gift that will be put to good use.

To make today's cards I used the following:
Cardstock:  Peach Parfait #119794, Poppy Parade #119793, Pear Pizzazz #119795, Concord Crush #119792, Blushing Bride #119796, Crumb Cake #120953, Whisper White #100730
