A Round Array - Sneak Peek

I posted a few weeks ago about the A Round Array Stamp Set which is one of the sets that will be available in new Annual Catalog which comes out June 1st.  If you don't want to wait for the new catalog, you can get this set now - thanks to Stampin' Up! offering us this sneak peek a bit early.  Today's card was made using one of the small stamps from that set.

My card base is Crumb Cake Card Stock with a layer of Pool Party, and Basic Black.  Using the "Chalkboard Technique" on the black card stock.  I first stamped my sentiment and my images with Versa Mark Ink, heat embossed them with White Embossing Powder, and then using a Dauber I added some Whisper White Craft Ink onto the black card stock to create the chalkboard look.  I tied some Pool Party Baker's Twine around the center and added my mini Thanks.

If you don't already have the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch that was introduced in the Spring Catalog, you can purchase that, along with the stamp set at a 15% savings from now until May 30th.

Chalkboard Technique Card

I have seen so many unique cards made using the Chalkboard Technique, and I finally got around to trying one of my own.  Really easy to do, and up close it really looks like a chalkboard!

My card base is Crumb Cake Card Stock, with a layer of Pool Party, and then my layer of Basic Black.  For the Chalkboard Technique, I first took my Versa Mark Ink and stamped my images, and then heat embossed them with White Emboss Powder.  I then took a Sponge Dauber and my Whisper White Craft Ink and dabbed the white ink onto my Basic Black Card Stock.

You can add as much or as little white as you want.  I tried to make it uneven, like a real chalkboard would look.  I then added some Sycamore Street Ribbon, which I got for FREE through Sale-a-bration.    I love this technique, and can't believe how easy it is to do.
