Circle of Spring

You still have time to purchase the Circle of Spring stamp set.  It will be retiring at the end of the current Annual Catalog and it is a great set for Mother's Day, birthday, thank you, Easter and more.  I created this simple Mother's Day card for my stamp class this month, and it coordinates with the Wonderful Wreath Framelit Dies which will also be retiring and available while supplies last.

You could  fill in your wreath with Stampin' Up! markers for a bit more color, but I will leave that up to the ladies to decide how much color they want for their card.  I like to see their creativity show through and don't always finish the cards I have on display.    Pair this up with some coordinating Designer Series Paper and you have an easy card ready to go.

Thoughtful Banners

The Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set has 53 photopolymer stamps with many sentiments and words that you can use to create cards for so many occasions.  I created this card for Mother's Day, but you can really change the card up so many ways to get the meaning you want.

My card base of Whisper White Card Stock was layered with a piece of Floral Bouquet Designer Series Paper.  I then cut another piece of Whisper White Card Stock and stamped my lines and then came up with my sentiment.  The "blessed" sentiment in the center was cut out with the coordinating Duet Banner Punch.  The stamp set and punch will be carrying over into the Annual Catalog, and if you are looking for a stamp set to be used for many occasions this is a great one to have.

Another "Special Reason" card

Another card we will be making at my April Stamp Class uses the Special Reason Stamp set and coordinating Stylish Stems Framelits Dies.  You can see my post on Wednesday that listed the sale prices for some of these products, and if you like what you see the products are available while supplies last and will not be available in the new Annual Catalog in June.

The color under the cut out flowers and leaves is a layer of Falling in Love Designer Series Paper.  All of the designer papers in both the Annual and Occasions Catalog will be retiring as well.
I also added a bit more color to the Very Vanilla layer by using one of the stamps in the Gorgeous Grunge Set which is also retiring.

The difference with this card and the one I posted on Wednesday is that instead of stamping and cutting out my flower I used different Framelits to just get the cut out image on the front layer with the color coming through the bottom layer.  I also lightly stamped a flower onto my birthday sentiment and placed this onto my card with Dimensionals.

Note:  Some of the products used in today's card may already be sold out, and the list chances daily.  So, if there is something you really want that is on the retired list don't wait too long.

Simple Sympathy

I used a piece of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper to create the soft background for my sympathy card. The Mint Macaroon color was put on using a Sponge Brayer and I rolled it over the paper to get the degree of color I wanted.

A coordinating piece of Mint Macaroon ribbon was tied around my layers and my Sympathy sentiment was cut out using a Stitched Oval Framelit.

The inside of my card was stamped with a coordinating sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set.  This set has sentiments for many occasions and can be purchased in a bundle with the coordinating Flourish Thinlits Dies to save you 10%.

The Marbling Technique Video

Watch the video below as Stampin' Up! trainer, Donna, teaches you how to create cool marbled effects for card backs, embellishments, and more using shaving cream and Classic Stampin' Ink Refills!  What a fun and creative way to get some different looks.

I'll show some samples of my own cards made using this technique in the next few weeks.  Enjoy the video and I hope it inspires you to get creative.

May Flowers Framelits with Flourish Thinlits Thank You

For my Thank You Card I cut out a large flower framelit from the May Flowers set and then a small flower from the Flourish Thinlits set.  I then placed this layer onto my Old Olive card base, put the cut flowers back into the cut space and it left a nice impression with the color showing through.

To put the flowers back onto my card  I used my Silicone Craft Sheet, some Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a Stampin' sponge to spread the glue onto the back of the flowers.  I then placed them over the opening, and added some small Enamel Shapes for a pop of color.  I stamped my sentiment in the upper left hand corner to finish my card.
