Yummy Cake!

With paper as yummy as the piece used here, from the Patio Party designer paper pack, there was not a lot of stamping done on my card.  But, I think the recipient gets the message - what good is a birthday without the cake!

 

Using the colors that were dominate in my designer paper, I started with a card base of Primrose Petals, followed by layers of Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit.  I layered my Designer Paper onto another piece of Primrose Petals, and added a piece of Baja Breeze in the background for added dimension and color.  A cute little In Color Dahlia was just the perfect size and embellishment needed for my Baja Breeze layer. 

 

In addition, I embossed my Summer Starfruit paper with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, added some Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, and my stamped and punched sentiment to finish the card.

 

By having the colors of your Designer Series Paper printed right in the catalog, it makes it easy to coordinate your card or project.  Whenever I get a new pack of Designer Series Paper, I immediately write the names of the coordinating card stock right on the back of white thick paper that is packaged with each pack.  This way, whenever I reach for my paper, I have the list of coordinating colors handy.

Birthday Lollipops!

Recycled brad and button containers were used to make birthday lollipops!

 

Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Cindee Wilkinson gets the credit for this idea.  I love the fact that I was able to use a lot of my empty containers.  I knew I kept them for some reason, and Cindee gave me the perfect inspiration to recycle and create.

 

To make the lollipops I first cleaned out my containers, and made sure to use ones where the lids fit tightly.  I then cut some Designer Series Paper with my 1 3/4" Circle Punch, and then stamped my Happy Birthday ribbon and sentiment from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set and placed both of these pieces on  my lid.  For the stick, which I purchased at a local craft store, I punched a hold in my container using my retired Crop-a-Dile and used my hot glue gun to keep it in place.  I filled my container with wrapped candy and tied some ribbon onto the stick for added embellishment.

 

You could make these for any occasion.  Just change your paper and sentiment, and you have a fun treat idea and can feel good about recycling those empty containers too.

s{ick} Get well Card

 

Today's card uses a leftover cut Labels Collection Framelit for one of my layers.  The card I posted on Wednesday was made with the cut out center being used to place my sentiment.  I just saved the piece for this card and changed the colors to coordinate. 

 

My card base of Tangerine Tango Card Stock was embossed using the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  For my layers, I cut three different Labels Collection Framelits, one in Lucky Limeade, one is my leftover piece of Floral District Designer Paper, and one in Whisper White.  I stamped my sentiment onto the small Whisper White framelit and placed it onto the other layers using dimensionals.  A small piece of Tangerine Tango 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon was placed in the corner for a bit more embellishment.

 

When I cut openings using any of my framelits I put the cut pieces in a container that I keep near my work station.  You never know when you might need a cut piece, and by having them nearby it inspires me to find ways to use them for another project.

Daydream Medallions Thanksgiving Card

 

What a perfect spot to put my Gratitude sentiment.  Right in the middle of my stamped medallion.  Now I could of cut the medallion out with a Floral Frames Framelit Die, but I liked just stamping my sentiment and image right in the middle instead.

 

My card base is Old Olive card stock, with an embossed layer of Crumb Cake, and then another smaller piece of Old Olive that was also embossed.  I cut a piece of Cajun Craze card stock to bring out a bit more color, and stamped my images onto Very Vanilla card stock.  A small bow at the bottom was added for more embellishment.

 

This was one of the cards offered at this month's stamp class, and there are none left so I think the ladies liked it.

From My Heart Thank You

 

By framing my sentiment around my Designer Series Paper the boldness of the statement really stands out, making this thank you card a bit more special.  

 

I started my card with a card base of Marina Mist card stock, followed by a layer of Whisper White and then a layer of Floral District Designer Series Paper that was cut out in the center with a Label Collections Framelit.  The opening the framelit created was the perfect size for my sentiment which was stamped directly onto my Whisper White layer.  I placed the DSP onto my card stock using dimensionals so it would stand out, and finished it off with a Rich Razzleberry bow. 

 

Framelits are so easy to use, and they let you cut anywhere on your card which gives you so much more flexibility in your design.  As an added bonus the card I will be posting tomorrow uses the left over piece of Designer Series Paper that was cut out of the center in this card.  Always great to have a cut piece all ready to use in another project.

More Halloween fun with the Googly Ghouls stamp set!

 

I embossed my Very Vanilla card stock and strips of Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper with the Spider Web embossing folder to create a web on the whole card.  I stamped my Boooo sentiment on with Basic Black ink and cut it out using my Big Shot and an Apothecary Accents Framelit.  I placed this on with dimensionals so I would have some room to run my Early Espresso Baker's Twine through a small punched hole at the bottom.  Now, I could of used the spider that comes with this stamp set, but instead I used the spider from the Spooky Bingo Bits set.  I didn't even realize a spider came with the Googly Ghouls set - and I have used the set several times.  Oh well, I will chalk that one up to age!!  I cut the spider out and placed him onto my web of threads using a dimensional.

 

I also added some of my leftover eyes from my Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit, and placed one in every o of my sentiment.

Reindeer Poop! I know it's not the best caption, but it gets your attention doesn't it.

 

Ok, so it's not really Reindeer Poop, but another item for my Craft Fairs that the kids really seem to like. 

 

My Reindeer Poop was created by filling a medium cellophane bag with chocolate raisinets.  The bag was a bit larger than I wanted it to be so I trimmed off an inch from the top.  To keep it closed I ran a piece of Old Olive Cardstock through my Big Shot using the Top Note Bigz Die and then embossing the cut piece with the retired Snowburst Embossing Folder.  I printed out the saying on my computer, and then cut it down to fit on the Top Note Die.  I added my little reindeer and then some Real Red Ribbon to dress it up. 

 

I have seen several versions of this fun treat, and for me, tying the ribbon through the top of the Top Note Die seemed like a nice way to not only decorate it, but also makes it convenient to carry.
