Nautical Graduation Wishes

A few nautical punches seemed to be just what I needed to go with the graduation sentiments and wishes.  They give the sense of adventure, and after all, isn't life after graduation all about the adventures ahead!

I started with Crumb Cake Cardstock and added a layer of Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.  I stamped my wishes with Chocolate Chip ink, and then punched my Nautical Expedition DSP with the Postage Stamp Punch, both from the Summer Mini Catalog.  I also punched an additional piece of the DSP to be placed under my Happy Graduation.

A Memorial Day Birthday

I will never forget my son-in-law's birthday, because it is the same day as mine, May 30th.  We will be celebrating our birthday's at the beach, and thought the Red, White, and Blue card was appropriate for his Memorial Day Birthday.

I started with Whisper White cardstock, followed by layers of Night of Navy and Real Red.   I punched several stars, and then embossed these layers with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  In keeping with the color theme, I alternated the ink for my sentiments and after a few quick punches, I place them on the card.

For today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Whisper White #100730, Night of Navy #100867, Real Red #102482
Ink:  Night of Navy #102977, Real Red #103133

Manhattan Flower "I Do Day"

I love the sentiment "Happy I Do Day" because weddings are such a happy occasion, and along with the embossed vellum, and some dyed ribbon, there wasn't a need to add much more for today's card.

I started with Whisper White Cardstock, followed by a layer of Pacfic Point and then the embossed layer of vellum cardstock.  I dyed my Whisper White Organza Ribbon with Pacific Point ink so it would match my layers, and also sponged the same ink to the edges of my sentiment. What is really cute about the sentiment is the o above the "do" is made to resemble a wedding ring, therefore, the rhinestone was the perfect choice to top it off.

My quick tip for dying ribbon is- Cut your white ribbon a little longer than you will need.  Take one end of the ribbon in your fingertips, and then place a Stamping Sponge on top of the ribbon and pull the ribbon through your ink pad using the sponge to add pressure.  Keep doing this until you get the amount of color you want.  I find this way is really easy, and not messy either.

For today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Whisper White #100730, Pacific Point #111350, Vellum #101856
Stamp Set:  Word Play #120308 wood or #120651 clear
Ink:  Pacific Point #111837
Ribbon:  Whisper White Organza #114319, Linen Thread #104199
Punch:  Curly Label #11851
Accessories:  Big Shot #113439, Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder #114517, Stamping Sponges #101610, Crop-a-Dile #108362, Dimensionals #104430

Beyond the Garden Wedding Card

Well, today's card uses no embossed vellum, but it does have a layer of Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper, new in the Summer Mini Catalog, and great for all of your summer projects.

The card base is Tangerine Tango with a layer of Beyond the Garden DSP and a layer of Wild Wasabi cardstock that was punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  A layer of 5/8" White Grosgrain Ribbon with the ends cut was placed in the center, and this added just enough embellishment for my stamped and punched sentiment.

The following were used for today's card:
Cardstock:  Tangerine Tango #111349, Wild Wasabi #108641Whisper White #100730
Designer Series Paper:  Beyond the Garden #122342 (Summer Mini Catalog)
Stamp Set:  Occasional Quotes #117048 wood or #120142 clear (Level 3 Hostess)

For the Newlyweds

Once I started embossing vellum cardstock I couldn't stop.  I love how deep and rich the impressions are, and thing it also adds some softness to the wedding cards.

I started with Baja Breeze cardstock, followed by a matte layer of Soft Suede, and a piece of Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.  The vellum was embossed on the bottom with the Flower Garden Embossing Folder.  Now, I know flowers usually grow standing up, but after playing with the ribbon placement and sentiment, I liked it better with the embossed layer on the bottom.

To make today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze #111352, Soft Suede 115318, Vellum #101856
Designer Series Paper:  Elegant Soiree #117163
Ink:  Soft Suede #115657
Stamp Set:  Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370
Ribbon:  Baja Breeze 1/2" Seam Binding #12331 (Carry over product)
Accessories:  Big Shot #113439, Flower Garden Embossing Folder #123113 (Summer Mini)
Punch:  Word  Window #119857, Sticky Strip #104294

A Week of Wedding Cards

I have several weddings to attend to this summer, the first one this coming Saturday, so I thought I would make all of my cards this week and share them with you.  The first card is for a couple who asked me to make their wedding invitations, so I knew their colors were black and white and thought this card would be appropriate, and something they would like.

I started with Basic Black cardstock, and embossed a layer of Vellum with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.  I scrunched some Basic Black satin ribbon, added a few pearls, and sponged Basic Black ink on my punched sentiment.  To keep the vellum in place I added some sticky strip behind the area of the ribbon, and added glue dots to the top corners.

To the inside of this card I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock so I have a place to write my wishes.

I used the following for today's card:
Cardstock:  Basic Black #121045, Whisper White #100730, Vellum #101856
Stamp Set:  Occasional Quotes #117048 wood or #120142 clear (Level 3 Hostess)
Ink:  Basic Black #101179
Punch:  Decorative Label #120907
Ribbon:  Basic Black Satin #117285
Embellishment:  Pearls #119247
Accessories:  Big Shot #113439, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder #119277, Sticky Strip #104294, Glue Dots #103683, Stamping Sponges #101610

Vellum Embossed Thank You

Try embossing with your Big Shot and any of the textured embossing folders for a rich, bold look on your card fronts.

I started with Pear Pizzazz cardstock and then cut a piece of Vellum Cardstock to fit the front of the card, and embossed it with the Finial Press Embossing Folder.   I then added some Concord Crush ribbon which I put onto the vellum with snail adhesive, and the bold flower, from the Printed Petals Stamp Set was inked with Concord Crush ink, cut out, and then placed onto the ribbon and vellum with a 5/8" Neutral Brad.  To hold the vellum into place without leaving any marks I placed a piece of sticky strip behind this area. Now the layer stays put, and there was no need to put adhesive anywhere else.  The line of sticky strip is hidden with the ribbon and is strong enough to hold the entire layer in place.  A piece of DSP from the In Color Level 1 Hostess Set, was punched out and layered behind my sentiment.

For today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Pear Pizzazz #119795, Vellum #101856, Whisper White #100730
Designer Series Paper:  In Color Level 1 Hostess #121028
Ink:  Concord Crush #119785
Stamp Sets:  Printed Petals #116679 wood or #120444 clear, Upsy Daisy #111710
Punches:  Scallop Oval #119856, 1 3/4" Oval #119855
Ribbon:  Concord Crush 1/2" Stitched Poly #119266
Embellishment:  5/8" Neutral Brad #11253
Accessories:  Big Shot #113439, Finial Press Embossing Folder #115963, Sticky Strip #104294, Snail Adhesive #104332
