Spooky Bats

 

I am glad the Wicked Cool Stamp Set was carried over into the Annual Catalog.  It is really a favorite Halloween Stamp Set of mine.  I am always looking for different ways to use it, and hope you like today's card.

 

My card base is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock, with a layer of Basic Black.  I added a smaller layer of Floral District Designer Series Paper for more color, and then a layer of Old Olive Card Stock.  After I stamped my images I ran my Whisper White Card Stock through my Big Shot using the Spider Web Embossing Folder and added my Spooky sentiment to the bottom. 

 

When my card base is a dark color I usually add a layer on the inside of my card, either in Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  It makes it easier to write my hand written message.

Wallet Gift Cards

 

 

There always seems to be someone on my Christmas list that gets Gift Cards so I am always looking for another way to package them.   I have seen wallets made into cards before, and I thought it would be fun to make some into gift card holders.  Using the already designed squares in one of the papers from the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper, it was really easy to decorate the front and dress them up a bit. 

 

To start I cut my cardstock to measure 4 1/4" x 11" and folded it in half.  I rounded the edges and embossed the folded wallets using a variety of embossing folders.  Next, I added some WhisperWhite cardstock to the inside on the right to leave a space to write a message.  To make a spot for my gift card, I cut a coordinating piece of cardstock to measure 5 1/4" x 2" and placed Sticky Strip on the bottom and two edges.  To keep it closed, I cut a small strip of cardstock, placed a small piece of Sticky Strip on the piece I placed in the back, and velcro on the front pieces.  Now the gift cards are easy to open and close. 

 

Just decorate the front as you wish, add your sentiment, and you are done.  The inside pocket is big enough that you should have no trouble placing any size gift card inside.

Autumn Accents Thank You Card

 

Time to start thinking about Fall.  The leaves will be turning, days getting shorter and colder, and time to bring out those fall colors when creating my cards for the next few months.  By using the new Autumn Accents Bigz Die it was easy to create this Fall thank you card.

 

My card base is Always Artichoke card stock, followed by a layer of Crumb Cake that was embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I cut leaves using the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and placed them randomly on my layers.  Some Crumb Cake 1/2" Seam Binding was added to the bottom, and my Thanks was stamped using Always Artichoke ink and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch.

Holiday Gift Bag

 

I saw a gift bag on page 7 of the new Holiday Catalog and I wanted to make some of my own.  They are really quick to make using the new 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch.

 

I purchased the white gift bag at a local craft store, and punched my scallop circles with Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso Card Stock and some Snow Festival and Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper. A few additional stamped images were punched and placed on my Whisper White Cardstock. I added them to the bag after I cut a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock and placed it on the bag for my tree trunk.   I added some retired buttons that I purchased on the Clearance Rack, and for the gift tag on the top I punched some DSP with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and a Gumball Green circle with the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch to add my to:  and  from: sentiment.  This was tied to the bag with some Gumball Green 1/4" Sweater Trim.

 

Add some colorful tissue paper and you have a great bag ready to go for the special present, and by  making your own you can save a lot of money too.

Googly Ghouls - Spooky !

 

By embossing and then sanding some Gumball Green Core'dinations Card Stock with the Spider Web Embossing Folder, I was able to really pick up the definition in the web. This new sandable card stock in the Holiday Catalog comes in three colors, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and Gumball Green. 

 

My card base is Tangerine Tango card stock, followed by a layer of Tangerine Tango Designer Series Paper from the Brights Paper Stack.  I then embossed my Gumball Green Core'dinations Cardstock with the Spider Web Embossing Folder, sanded it with a sanding block, and rounded the corners.  I added a piece of 1/2" Basic Black and Gray Striped Satin Ribbon before adding my stamped images.  I placed my Googly Ghoul onto the ribbon with a dimensional to make it stand out.

More Stocking Stuffers - A basketful of Mentos!

 

If you need a quick gift for your childs class, co-workers, or stocking stuffers, it is really easy to dress up a pack of mentos, or any other similiar wrapped candy.  They look really cute all dressed up and taste good too!

 

To wrap the Mentos, I kept the original wrapper on the candy, and just wrapped it with Designer Series Paper.  I cut my paper to measure 5 1/2" x 3 " and rolled it up by putting one layer of Snail Adhesive on one end, and rolling it up to meet the other end that had Sticky Strip on the edge to keep a good hold.  I dressed them up with my sentiment and ribbon, and added a retired jingle bell to each one.  To distinguish the different flavors I used four different colors on my ribbons and stamped image.  This helps me at my craft fairs, and is easy for people to see what type of candy they are getting.

Coffee anyone?

 

 I saw some really cute birthday treats made with the Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die, so I thought why not try making a treat for all of the coffee lovers on my Christmas list.  I have made the tea bag gift sets in the past, and this year I will add the coffee treats for my craft fairs as well as my own personal gifts for friends and family.  I made several different colors, and used a variety of instant coffee flavors, and the one I am showing today is the one I made using Baja Breeze cardstock.  Not the usual traditional Christmas colors, but it went well with my Designer Series Paper, and I thought I needed to add a bit more color to my projects. 

 

I started with Baja Breeze cardstock, and cut it out with the Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die.  I put it together with sticky strip, and then embossed it with a retired embossing folder.  I also used the current Petals-a-Plenty and Northern Flurry Folders for others I have made.  After it was embossed, I added my strip of Snow Festival Designer Series Paper.  I only added it to the front, and didn't wrap it all of the way around because I didn't think it needed it since the cardstock was embossed.  That way I saved paper without sacrificing on the look.  I then cut out a Whisper White doily which is from the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die.  I also embossed this with my snowflake folder, and placed it onto my DSP with dimensionals.  Next, I stamped my coffee cup with Baja Breeze ink, and colored in the coffee with an Early Espresso marker, and cut it out using the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies.  I added a pearl to the center of the snowflake on the cup, and further embellished the cup with some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details on the edges of the snowflake.  I placed this onto my doily with a dimensional as well. 

 

I wasn't sure if I wanted to add anything to the top, but I thought it would be easier to attach either to the Christmas tree, or to another gift if it had something tied to it, so I added some Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Sweater Trim and tied my sentiment onto that using retired Hemp Twine. 

 

I think these would make great co-worker or teacher gifts too!
