Rejoicing with you...

Rejoicing with you...  What a simple, but beautiful sentiment for Christmas.  I thought it said enough so I just layered some Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper around it to make my card.

The inside sentiment reads, ...And Wishing you Every Blessing As We Celebrate The Birth of Jesus Our Lord.

If you do send religions Christmas cards, this sentiment is perfect.  It is from the Versatile Christmas Stamp Set, which also has sentiments for those who like a card without a religious statement.

Alternate Uses for the Spider Web Doilies

I love the Spider Web Doilies in the Holiday Catalog, and have used them for a lot of Halloween cards.  Since I still have some left I was really happy to see the video put out by Stampin' Up! showing some really cute alternate uses for these doilies to make them useful for other projects.  I hope you enjoy watching.

Square Pillow Box Christmas Treats

The Square Pillow Box Thinlits Die is much larger than the Pillow Box Die Stampin' Up! used to carry.  This box can hold a lot of sweet treats or goodies, and I filled mine with Hershey Kisses.  They will make nice gifts for teachers, co-workers, family and friends.

I used some retired paper to cut the box, and tied it with  Whisper White 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon. I added my sentiment and cut that out with  a retired snowflakes framelit.  I added Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details around the snowflake for more embellishment and put it onto the box using Dimensionals.

The Square Pillow Box Thinlit can be purchased in a bundle with the "A Little Something" Stamp Set.  The set has images and sentiments for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Thinking of You.

Tea Bag Christmas Gift

I have made these little tea bag treats for the holidays before, but thought this year I would change the way I made them.  I decided to put the tea and some chocolates into a Mini Muslin Bag instead of the paper holder I have used in the past.

I tied my sentiment onto the bag using some Real Red 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon that you can still purchase on the Clearance Rack for $2.79 (not the price listed below). You can go to my Clearance Rack here.   I added my Christmas Tree from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set, that was inked in Mossy Meadow and cut out with my Big Shot and a Perfect Pines Framelit.  The stamp set and coordinating framelits can be purchased in a bundle to save you 15%.  

Note - I placed my tree onto the bag with dimensionals so it could be removed and the bag could them be used again.  You could stamp directly onto the bag, but wanted to give people the option to reuse the bag.  

These would be cute gifts for co-workers, teachers, or anyone who likes tea.  They are easy to make and I think the Muslin Bags are a nice choice.

Fun to make - Christmas Trees

I purchased the wood trees at a local craft store and decorated the one on the left with Designer Series Paper, and the one on the right was stamped with some fun sayings and embellished with snowflakes.

They were really easy to make.  Before I placed on my Designer Paper I added a layer of Mod Podge. I then cut the paper to fit and added another layer of Mod Podge once the paper was on.  I cut out my Joy using Wonderful Wreath Framelit and placed this onto my tree using the new Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

The tree that was stamped used various sentiments and I used Red and Green Staz-On Ink.  I also used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere my snowflakes.

The possibilities of how you want to decorate your trees are endless.  They would make cute gifts to send to anyone.  The trees open up like an easel so they can be placed on a table making them easy to display.

Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are something you never want to send, but if you have too, sending a hand stamped one is so meaningful.  It is hard to decide what type of image I want to stamp on my card, but I thought the simplicity of the birds in a tree along with the sentiment was appropriate.

My card base of Marina Mist Card Stock was embossed with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and then layered with a piece of Basic Black Card and Whisper White Card Stock.  I used Memento Black Ink for my large images and the background images were stamped with Marina Mist and So Saffron  Ink.  A piece of Basic Black 3/8" Satin Ribbon was placed around this layer before I added it to my card.

The inside sentiment reads '"Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and loving memories to heal your heart".  The Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set has been around for awhile, but one of my favorite sets for Sympathy, Thinking of you, and Get Well Cards.

Masking Technique - Video

The Masking Technique isn't new, but this video by Stampin' Up! is still good to watch for those who have never done it, or those like me, who haven't used this technique in a while.

A couple of additional tips:

Once you cut your mask, in this case the flower, you can use a small piece of removable adhesive to keep it in place, or use a sticky note.

When they stamped the large background image and stamped it off on the scrap mat, this was done so your image would be lighter, and the misting with water created a watercolor look.  You can purchase the Stampin' Spritzer, seen on page 163 of the Annual Catalog at my Online Store.

This is a fun technique that lets you create images that make people ask "how did she do that".  It is really nice if you want to create a large bouquet of flowers, or like in this video, a nice background that just silhouettes your image.  I will try to post a card this week using this technique.
