    Storm damage! No cards today.

We had a pretty powerful, but quick storm yesterday, and this is what we came home to after a day of being with our grandchildren.  Yikes!  Looks like I will be busy for a few days getting things back in order, dealing with the insurance company, and calling tree services to come out and help.  So, I won't be posting any projects until I get this mess cleared up.  I really would rather be in my craft room creating, but sometimes life throws us a curveball, but I am so thankful no one was hurt.

    Sunshine Sayings

The Sunshine Saying Stamp Set and coordinating Sunshine Wishes Thinlits can be purchased together in a bundle to save you 10%.  I used  them both for today's card, and the inspiration was from a card I saw in my Stampin' Success magazine which all demonstrators receive.  It is full of great ideas and just one of the many perks of being a demonstrator!

My card base is Daffodil Delight Card Stock.  To this I added a new Delicate White Doily and then my layer of Whisper White Card Stock.  Using So Saffron ink I stamped some of the watercolor marks onto my paper, and then cut out my flower and congrats using Calypso Coral Card Stock.  I also cut out the stem, using Cucumber Crush Card Stock, added some stamped leaves and my sentiment at the bottom.  I got a little smudge of ink in the lower right hand corner of my card so I cut another small flower, using a Flourish Thinlit,  and added this to cover it up.

July Paper Pumpkin Video and Altered Paper Pumpkin

If you are a subscriber to Paper Pumpkin you should of received your July kit by now.  If you are not a subscriber watch the video below to see the "surprise" products inside the kit.  Not only do I love the little diamond shaped boxes which are great for holding little treats, but in this kit you also get a new In-Color Emerald Envy Ink Spot, a Photopolymer Stamp Set that you can use over and over again, and left over tags for another project.

I have seen some alternate ideas for this kit, such as sponging red and green over the boxes before they are put together to make cute Christmas Tree Ornaments, so the possibilities are endless.  I am really hoping they have refills for this kit soon because I will be stocking up on more boxes to have on hand for parties, thank you's, teacher gifts, and any occasion where I want to take a small gift, all wrapped up in a very unique box.

Another thing I want to share is that you can always alter the project inside.  In December we received a kit to make a monthly calendar page for each month.  When the months are over you can take off the calendar part and use the background to make a card like I did in the card posted below.

This was the January calendar page.  I just took off the month and added my Birthday Sentiment and stamped flowers, added another piece of Pool Party Card Stock and both were cut out and layered onto a Lots of Labels Framelit.  So with this kit I will now have a layer for 12 cards once each month is over.

Just a few things about Paper Pumpkin:
    • Every kit comes with an exclusive stamp set to use over and over!
    • Each kit comes with at least one Classic Stampin’ Spot with every kit. The colors don’t repeat in a 12-month period, so it’s easy to build a collection of colorful ink.
    • If you are a new subscriber you will receive a clear block (size D) with your first kit to help you get started and to use throughout your subscription.
    • It’s an incredible value! In addition to a stamp set an ink spot(s), the kits are packed with supplies many to make awesome projects like cards, home décor, gift packaging, and more. For example, the card kits (6+ per year) always include 8 cards—at least!
    • It’s flexible! You can suspend (for a month) or cancel at anytime.
    • Since all the prep work is done, the projects take a shorter time to complete, making it the perfect on-the-go craft. Headed out of town? Grab a kit to create during some downtime. It’s all contained in one little box, so it’s easy to take anywhere!
    • It’s a surprise in your mailbox every month. Because who doesn’t love happy mail?
    • Every month, Stampin' Up! shares a video to quickly demonstrate how to assemble each kit. Just go to PumpkinHowTo.com to link over to our YouTube channel.
    • You can create the project as Stampin' Up!  intended, or  get a little creative and come up with your own alternate ideas.  As your demonstrator I will be happy to work with you to come up with new ideas.
    • Every subscriber has exclusive access to Stampin' Up's!  selection of past kits. So, when a kit runs out, you can buy more—either as a full kit or a refill (without stamp set and ink). This is good only while supplies last.
    • Hosts can earn Stampin’ Rewards on prepaid subscriptions, making earning even more Free products easy.

    Baby Bear

The Baby Bear Stamp Set is really cute.  The stamped bear looks so real and cuddly, and makes a simple but elegant baby card. The sentiments also make this set great for weddings, valentines, thank you and more.

I stamped my bear once with the full image using Crumb Cake Ink and then used the image with the least amount of "fur" using Chocolate Chip Ink.  There is a third image you can stamp that has a little bit more "fur" to get a different look, but I was happy with the way this turned out.

If you need a baby girl card just change your colors.  I used some Night of Navy Solid Baker's Twine for my bow, and added some Floral Boutique Washi Tape for a bit more color.

    Fairy Celebration

The Fairy Celebration Stamp Set is whimsical and fun.  I used my Blender Pens to color in the image and cut an Oval Framelit on my top card layer, to really make her stand out.

My card base is Pink Pirouette Card Stock that I layered with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I cut this layer with an Oval Framelit and placed my Fairy stamped onto Whisper White Card Stock under this layer.  Using my Blender Pens and markers I colored in the image and added some Clear Wink of Stella to make her sparkle.  You can't see it in the picture, but it really makes her seem more magical.  I tied on some retired Pink Pirouette Ribbon and placed my sentiment which was cut out using a Popcorn Box Thinlit.

Popcorn Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up! - Video

I have a stamp class tonight, so I don't won't have time to post my own creation as I finish prepping for the class, so I thought I would share this video by Stampin' Up! that showcases the Popcorn Box Thinlits.  The finished boxes measure 3 5/8" x 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" so they are big enough to fill with popcorn, candy, or any small goodies, but not too large that you have to put a lot of product in, making them perfect for favors, thank you gifts, teacher gifts and more.  Just decorate with Designer Series Paper, Card Stock, add stamped images and sentiments to fit the occasion, fill them up and you have a cute treat box.  I can see me using them for showers, birthday favors, thank you gifts, holiday treat boxes and so much more.   Once I start preparing for my Holiday Craft Fairs I will share all of the ideas I came up with.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the video.

The thinlits coordinate with the Ready To Pop Stamp Set.  You can purchase them separately or together in a bundle to save you 10%.  You don't have to have the stamp set to  make the cute boxes, but the sentiments and designs in the set work so well with it that of course I had to get the bundle.

    Colorful Petal Burst

If you want to add a bit of color to your Whisper White embossed Card Stock, just use the new Sponge Brayers to spread your ink across your paper.   The brayers come with 2 handles and 4 sponges and are so easy to use and don't leave a line when you spread your color.  Want just a bit of color, spread a light layer of ink, want more color just keep rolling until you get it just right.

My card base of Watermelon Wonder Card Stock was layered with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock and then my embossed white layer that I sponged using the Brayer and Mint Macaroon Ink.  I tied on some Mint Macaroon 5/8 Striped Ribbon, stamped my sentiment and cut that out with an Layering Oval Framelit.  I tied this onto my ribbon with Linen Thread and for a bit more color and dimension I punched some butterflies using a piece of Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper. Some retired Candy Dots were added to my butterflies to finish the card.
