Bloom with Hope - Watercolor

I will also miss the hostess stamp set "Bloom with Hope".  The sentiments are really beautiful and the flowers in different sizes are perfect for so many of your projects.  I decided to use Watercolor Paper, Stazon Black Ink, my Aqua Painter, and Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride Ink to color my images for a soft look.

To finish the card I tied on some Blushing Bride 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, and added a small extra piece of Pear Pizzazz 1/4" Cotton Ribbon for a bit more color.  When I stamped my Happy Birthday directly onto my Watercolor Paper I smudged the ink so I restamped it on a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and punched it out with the retiring Modern Label Punch and placed on top of my smudge.  No one will ever know!

Note -  When using your Aqua Painter or Blender Pens to water color your images always use Stazon Ink.  The ink does not run or smear when you add the water and ink.

Saying goodbye to "Tape It"

When I am looking for a stamp set for masculine cards I like to use "Tape It".  You can make very generic designs using a variety of colors to create your background.  From a distance it looks like you have Washi Tape for your layer, but it is just stamped images placed randomly onto my card.  This is another favorite of mine that is retiring at the end of May.

I used Always Artichoke and Night of Navy colors to make this a masculine birthday card.  The sentiment is from my "Guy Greetings" stamp set in the Occasions Catalog which is also perfect for your masculine cards.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be carried over into the new Annual Catalog in June.  To layer my birthday I punched a Large Oval of Always Artichoke and layered it behind my cut birthday, and added some Night of Navy Seam Binding to finish my card.

Saying goodbye to "Starburst Sayings"

I am really going to miss some of the retiring products, just like the stamp set and framelits used for my post today.  My big happy day sentiment is from the Starburst Sayings stamp set and it coordinates with the Starburst Framelits Dies.  If you would still like to purchase them both  you can get them in a bundle to save 15%.  If you would just like the stamp set in wood it is on sale for 25% and the clear set is on sale for 15%.

My card base of Calypso Coral Card Stock was layered with a piece of Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Paper that I cut with a large Starburst Framelit.  I then stamped my sentiment with Bermuda Bay Ink and cut it out with another smaller Starburst Framelit.  My arrow was punched with the What's Up punch, another product that is retiring.

Note - Retiring Stamp Sets will continue to be made available until the end of May.  All other retiring products are while supplies last.  You can see all of the retiring products here.

For Mother's Day

I used the Sweet Laughter Stamp Set for my Mother's Day Card.  The inside sentiment reads, "I sure hope so."  What a nice saying to give to your mom to let her know how much you admire her.  I think my mom will like her card.

I stamped my flowers right onto my Whisper White Card and cut out the oval using one of my Oval Framelits and a piece of Perfect Plum Designer Series Paper from the Paper Stack.  The little hearts and heart strip at the bottom are thinlits that come with the Mini Treat Bag Die.  To finish my card I added a bit of color to my flowers and flower pot using a Perfect Plum and Crumb Cake marker.

The following were used: *Note - Oval Framelits are currently unavailable to order.

Build a Bouquet Project Kit

I don't have time this morning to post one of my own cards but I thought you might like to watch this video by Stampin' Up! showing you the Build a Bouquet Project Kit.  This kit includes everything you need to create a very stylish bouquet of flowers.  The kit does take awhile to put together but well worth it when you see the finished result.  If you have been having a very unusual spring with rainy cold weather like I have making this bouquet will surely help to brighten up your mood while you wait for the real flowers to bloom.  To order you own kit you can go here to my online store.

Note:  12 midnight Mountain Time Stampin' Up! will release the list of retiring products from the Annual and Occasions Catalog.  I will have that list for you as soon as I am able to upload it to my blog.  A lot of items will be sold at a discount and are available while supplies last.  So, check back tomorrow for that list as well as the next round of Weekly Deals.
