Happy Watercolor

I am really sad to see the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set retiring so soon.  I knew I wanted to use it again at this month's stamp class and paired it up with another retiring set called Perfect Couple to make a wedding card.

My card base is Smoky Slate Card Stock that I layered with a piece of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper and coordinating Crushed Curry Card Stock.  I stamped my Floral Image onto a piece of Whisper White Card Stock using Basic Gray Ink, and then stamped my Watercolor marks using Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry Ink.  To make the lighter marking on the bottom Smoky Slate I just stamped my image off onto a piece of scrap paper before restamping it onto my card stock.

The following were used:
Card Stock:  Smoky Slate #131202, Whisper White #100730, Crushed Curry #131199
Designer Series Paper: Eastern Elegance #130131
Ink: Smoky Slate #131179, Basic Gray #126981, Crushed Curry #131173
Stamp Sets:  Happy Watercolor #133188 w or #133191 c, Perfect Couple #133194 w or #133197

Amazing Family

Another stamp set retiring in a few days is "Amazing Family."  This is a great set for making cards for your family.  If you want it, you better hurry because retiring items are available only while supplies last and a lot of products are already sold out.  You can see the retired list here at my online store.

My card base is Midnight Muse Card Stock that I embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I added a piece of Midnight Muse 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and then my sentiment which I cut out with a Labels Collection Framelit.  I also added a piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper behind my sentiment, and this was also cut out with a Labels Collection Framelit.

When you are stamping sentiments or images onto your card that you want to line up correctly use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to help you position your stamps so you know exactly where you will place them.

Look Up To Father

I know Mother's Day is this Sunday, but Father's Day is right around the corner too, and my stamp classes always work a month ahead of the actual holiday.  So, here is a Father's Day Card that I prepared for class.  It could be used for a birthday card too.

I used Very Vanilla Card Stock with a layer of Baked Brown Sugar and Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper for my card base.  I added some Crumb Cake 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon before I placed my Stamped Image which I cut out with a Window Frames Framelit.  I pierced a design around my Framelit with the coordinating Festive Paper-Piercing Pack for a bit more embellishment.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Very Vanilla #101650, Baked Brown Sugar #131296
Designer Series Paper: Venetian Romance #130144
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar #131174

Spiral Spins

Spiral Spins is another Stamp Set that is in the Occasions Catalog, but I don't see in my new Annual Catalog which goes live to everyone June 2nd.  While I can't say for sure if it will be retired, it doesn't look like you will be able to order it, at least for awhile, unless you do so before June 1st.  I really think it is a fun stamp set which offers a lot of different potential for cute designs.

My card base is Coastal Cabana Card Stock that I layered with a piece of So Saffron Card Stock and Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper.  I love the colors in this paper.  I think it is great for spring and summer cards.   I then stamped my Spirals using ink that coordinated with my Designer Paper, cut the circles out with my 1 3/4" Circle and 1/2" Circle Punches.  The smaller spirals were placed onto the larger spirals using dimensionals, and placed onto a different color spiral for more contrast. These Spirals also coordinate with the Circle Collection Framelits Dies.

I also added some retired Tangerine Tango ribbon behind the spirals, and stamped my Happy Birthday with Coastal Cabana Ink.  The sentiment was cut out with a Banners Framelits Dies.  I also cut out two additional banners using Baked Brown Sugar and Tangerine Tango ink for a bit more color and dimension behind my sentiment.

The following were used:
Card Stock: Coastal Cabana #130024, So Saffron #105118, Whisper White #100730
Designer Series Paper: Retro Fresh #132993
Ink:  Coastal Cabana #131175, Baked Brown Sugar #131174, Tangerine Tango #126946
Stamp Sets: Spiral Spins #133303 w or #133306 c, Banner Greetings #129711 w or #129714 c (Hostess)
Tools:  Big Shot #113439, Banners Framelits Dies #132173
Punches:  1 3/4" Circle #119850, 1/2" Circle #119869
Adhesive:  Dimensionals #104430, Snail #104332

Amazing Superhero!

I'm not sure if the stamp set Cool Kid will be carried over at any time once the Occasions Catalog retires the end of May, but I can tell you it is not in the new Annual Catalog.  So, if you like this fun set you better hurry and get it soon.  It is great for making cute children's cards.

My card base is Crushed Curry Card Stock with a layer of Whisper White Card Stock and Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. I stamped my images onto another piece of Whisper White using Basic Black Ink and then cut it out with a Starburst Framelits Die.  I cut another piece of Kaleidoscope DSP and cut that out with a Banners Framelits Die and placed it under my image to break up some of the larger design.   I colored the image a bit using my Crushed Curry Marker and added the Happy Birthday to the bottom and cut this out with a Bitty Banners Framelits.

The following were used:
Card Stock:  Crushed Curry #131199, Whisper White #100730
Designer Series Paper: Kaleidoscope #132995
Ink: Basic Black #126980, Regal Stampin' Write Markers #131262
Stamp Sets:  Cool Kid #133122 w or #133125 c (Occasions Catalog), Itty Bitty Banners #132022 w or #126257 c
Tools:  Big Shot #113439, Starburst Framelits Dies #132967, Bitty Banners Framelits #129267

Watercolor Wonder Note Cards

Need a quick card, check out the Water Wonder Designer Note Cards & Envelopes in the Occasions Catalog.  You get 20 printed cards on water color paper - 4 each of 5 designs along with 20 Ivory Envelopes.  I made 2 graduation cards and 1 thank you card using 3 of the designs.  Just add your own sentiment and stamps to fit the occasion and you have beautiful cards in a snap.

To this card I stamped images from the Pure Gumption Stamp Set.  The Graduation Hat was cut out using my Paper Snips.  The yellow background and oval is the design of the note card.

This card was embellished with some Thick Baker's Twine and stamped with the Oh, Hello Stamp Set.  The images on the bottom are already on the note card - how easy is that.

This not card has the pretty green watercolor front.  I added images from the Pomp & Circumstances Stamp Set.  The diploma and hat were cut out with my Paper Snips.

The following were used:
Note Cards:  Watercolor Wonder #133362 (Occasions Catalog)
Stamp Sets: Pure Gumption #132067 w or #126317 c (Retiring), Oh Hello #131931 w or #130733 c (Retiring), Pomp & Circumstance #134165 w or #134168 (Occasions Catalog)
