Sponged Background

Want to create a soft, colorful background for your card without using Designer Series Paper? Take your Stampin' Sponges and your favorite colors and just layer them onto your Card Stock for a new look.
For my card, I first took a piece of So Saffron Card Stock and folded it in half.  I then cut another piece of Whisper White Card Stock and started sponging away.  The colors I used were So Saffron, Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Old Olive.  For the largest So Saffron layer I just carefully rubbed my Card Stock across my ink pad.  The other layers were put on with my sponges.  You could also use a Sponge Dauber but be I found that the sponges gave a softer look.
To finish the card I stamped my Serene Silhouette image and sentiment using Memento Ink.
The following were used:
Card Stock: So Saffron #105118, Whisper White #100730
Ink: So Saffron #126957, Marina Mist #126962, Soft Sky #131181, Old Olive #126953, Memento Black #132708
Stamp Sets:  Serene Silhouettes #132073 w or #127324 c, Something to Say #134177 w or #134180 c
Tools:  Stamping Sponges #101610
