Heard It's Your Birthday

I ordered the  First Edition Specialty DSP by mistake, I really wanted to order the Mocha Morning DSP which is on the same page in the catalog, but somehow got the numbers mixed up.  I thought, what can I do with this paper?  Well, I like how it goes with my birthday card, since it gives the illusion of placing the birthday wishes in the newspaper.  Now I know I will find lots of other ways to use it, so happy I made the mistake!

This is one of the cards that was offered at my monthly Stamp-a-Stack.  Some people used a different color for their punched borders if they wanted it to be a masculine card, and also filled in the image with other colors too.  But, since mine was for a young girl, I went with the pink border and colors.

My card base is Daffodil Delight  and it was layered with Pink Pirouette cardstock that was punched with the Scallop Edge Border punch and placed under a piece of Basic Black  and my First Edition DSP.  My image was stamped with Basic Black ink, and I colored it in using a variety of markers.  I mounted it onto my layers using Dimensionals to make it stand out.

The following were used:
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight #119683, Pink Pirouette #111351, Whisper White #100730, Basic Black #121045
Designer Series Paper:  First Edition Specialty #121878
Stamp Set:  Ain't Love Grand #122505 wood or #122507 clear (Hostess)
Ink:  Basic Black #191179, Markers: Pretty in Pink #100045, Daffodil Delight #119677
Punch:  Scallop Edge Border #119882
