Holly Berry Rosettes

I have made several rosettes or as some call them accordion flowers before, but never could find a great way to keep them together until I came across Heather Summer's blog.  On her blog she has a great video showing you how she uses her crop-a-dile and some thread to tie your two scored strips together.  To check out her video you can go to her blog at .  The video was posted on August 14th and is titled Lollipop Accordian Flower.

My rosettes were made using Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series Paper and my Simply Scored Scoring Tool.   The smaller rosette was  made using two pieces of 12 x 1 DSP, the middle one is 12 x 1 1/2, and the larger one is 12 x 2.  They all need two strips of paper measuring 12" and the width determines how big they get.  Once I secured the two strips together following the instructions on the video, I decorated them using a variety of punches, stamps, and buttons.  After placing my punched pieces together I placed them onto my rosette using Crystal Effects which creates a really strong hold when it dries.  Rosettes can be used in place of bows on presents, dress up a plain gift bag,  decorate the Christmas tree, and so much more.

If you are going to be making a lot of rosettes, but not sure what size you want them to be, I found that scoring the whole piece of 12 x 12 cardstock at once saves you time.  You can then cut it to whatever length you need, and save the remaining scored piece for later.
