Fun in the sun!

Add more brightness and dimension to your projects using the new Embossing Powders in three fun colors available in the Summer Mini Catalog.

Tangering Tango, Wild Wasabi, and Melon Mambo Embossing Powders are great colors for this fun in the sun card.  To get multiple colors on the surfboards I just inked the whole image in Versa Mark Ink, and then placed  scrap paper over the pieces I did not want embossed while covering the images to be embossed with the different colors.  I then took my heat tool to set the embossing powder.  I did one color at a time, just moving my scrap paper to different areas.  This way when I was done with one color I could place the extra powder back in the container before moving on to another color.

To create the layer of sand, I tore a piece of scrap cardstock and placed it over the top of the Whisper White cardstock, leaving an area to sponge with Crumb Cake ink.

A torn piece of cardstock created my template for sponging my sand image.
To create even more dimension between my Tempting Turquoise card base and the Whisper White stamped layer, I punched a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Scallop Edge Border Punch.

I originally tried this without using a layer of Whisper White cardstock for my surfboards, but thought the images did not stand out as well, but I wanted to share my first try with you.

To make today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Tempting Turquoise #102067, Whisper White #100730, Crumb Cake #120953
