Sweet Treat Birthday

This is the birthday card I made for my 3 year old grandson.  He loved the little candy surprise!

I used Pumpkin Pie Cardstock to match the orange M & M's in the treat cup, added a small scallop edge in So Saffron and stamped the gumball machine on Whisper White.  I punched a hole in the center for the treat cup using the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  The treat cups have adhesive on them, but I always add a little extra on the top outer rim too.   For those who have followed my blog for awhile you might remember that my grandson was very sick earlier this summer.  We are so happy and blessed that he has recovered from encephalitis and was a very active, and happy little boy on his birthday.  So making this card had special meaning for me - and it was the Sweetest Day Ever - just like the sentiment says.

To make today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Pumpkin Pie #105117, So Saffron #105118, Whisper White #100730
Stamp Set: Something Sweet #117688 wood mount or #118589 clear mount
Ink:  Pumpkin Pie #105216
Punches:  Modern Label #119849, Scallop Edge Border #119882, 1 3/4" Circle #119850
Embellishments:  Sweet Treat Cups #116802, Bright Brads #119740

So glad to hear your grandson is fine! With 7 children and 11 grandchildren of my own, I know how heart wrenching it is when a serious illness strikes any of them.
I'm following you through SC. Hope you'll join me too!
