Easy Watercolor

I just recently started doing more watercoloring and really love how easy it is with the Aqua Painters.  Now I know there are quite a few different techniques and ways to watercolor, but for now I find the Aqua Painters and some ink really keep it simple for me, and I really like the results.

For today's card I started with a base of Baja Breeze cardstock, and added a small strip of Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper.  Using watercolor paper I stamped my image from the Fast & Fabulous Level 2 Hostess Stamp Set with StazOn Black Ink.  Now to get the ink onto the paper using my Aqua Painter I take my ink pad and with it closed I press on the lid to get a small pool of ink on the inside lid.  I then dip the tip of my Aqua Painter into the ink and apply it to the image.  I used a combination of Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze and Soft Suede inks on the flower.  You can make the image as light or dark as you want, and I just play around with the inks until I get the results I am looking for.  I added some Victoria Crochet Trim to the side and stamped my sentiment.  It took me less than 10 minutes to finish this card.

Another great feature of the Aqua Painter is that it will last forever.  When the reservoir is empty just fill it with water and you are all set.  You get two Aqua Painters per pack - one with medium tip and one with a larger tip.  No mess, and more transportable than a cup and watercolor brush.  Works best with watercolor paper that comes sized to layer on your card front.

To make today's card I used the following:
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze #111352, Watercolor Paper #105019
Designer Series Paper:  Elegant Soiree #117163
Stamp Sets:  Fast and Fabulous #118754 wood mount or #120133 clear mount (Hostess Level 2), Occasional Quotes #117048 wood mount or #120142 clear mount (Hostess Level 3)
Ink:  Pear Pizzazz #119784, Baja Breeze #111833, Soft Suede #115657, Jet Black StazOn #101406
Ribbon:  Victoria Crochet Trim #118481
Accessories:  Aqua Painter #103954
